How to get a decent stack trace?
Hi,
I just gave Mongrel a try on my Rails app. After running
''mongrel_rails start'' everything seems fine. Yet, when I start a
request I get the following error message on the console:
ERROR: You have a nil object when you didn''t expect it!
The error occured while evaluating nil.readpartial
That''s it. The application works fine with Webrick and

RMagick load problems?
I have a page (model: daily_progress_chart) that uses RMagick and
ImageMagick to create a chart using RVG. A few days ago (after some
updates to Rails), this chart stopped working on both my development
machine (MacBook Pro) and the production server (Gentoo Linux). I get
the following error messages. I am totally lost, but I assume that there
is a problem with RMagick. Any ideas anyone?

Error - Conflicting types for parameter containers
Hi,
I am trying to implement password-reset functionality.
I have an email sent out to a user when they request a password. The
URL in the email contains a cgi param, of which is a SHA 256 hex
digest. The user clicks on that link and the page is opened in a
separate window, when the user enters in their password. When I hit
submit, I get the following error, anyone run into this error before?

Using custom stem analyzer giving mongrel errors
I''m using the custom stem analyzer:

@stop_words = stop_words

restart - `exec'': Operation not supported
I played around with this some more and when I changed
line 142 of
/opt/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/mongrel-0.3.13.4/bin/mongrel_rails
from "exec cmd" to "system cmd" Mongrel has
successfully restarted every time I''ve tried
("mongrel_rails restart").
Hell if I know why exec doesn''t work -- googling on
"exec Operation not supported ruby"

ActionMailer/SMTP: Net::SMTPSyntaxError when message body contains only a 'dot'
FYI:
I don''t think this is a very well know. It seems that, on some
operating systems, ActionMailer/SMTP crashes when it sends an email
with only a ''.'' (aka a ''dot'' or a ''period''). Specifically, you get
Net::SMTPSyntaxError (502 Error: command not implemented):

Broken installation of mongrel 0.3.13.4 on Sun OS 5.9
Hi,
Anyone succeeded in installing Mongrel on Sun Solaris? It looks like the
installation is broken. I have started using Mongrel recently and not sure
where to look when something is missing.
First the file http11.so was not installed in
/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/mongrel-0.3.13.4/lib
I''ve resolved that and when tried to start mongrel from the command line I
received the

Random(?) action hanging
Is this the behavior that supposedly indicates a problem with a
particular action? Mongrel in development mode randomly hangs on
random actions. Further requests cause USR1 logs like:
Mon Sep 18 13:04:03 PDT 2006: 0 threads sync_waiting for /, 2 still active in mongrel.
Mon Sep 18 13:07:52 PDT 2006: 1 threads sync_waiting for /public/stylesheets/table.css, 3 still active in mongrel.

Hi all,
Please excuse the long post, but I wanted to make sure you have all the
information....
I have a NewsModel that looks like this:

I''m using the latest Mongrel (0.3.13.4) and restarting

Mongrel spewing backtraces and nanosleeping
Hi list,
I''m seeing a couple of issues with Mongrel. I''m running FreeBSD 6.1 and
have previously been told that there are known conflicts between this
and Mongrel, yet I hope these issues will be resolved with time.
I''m overloading Mongrel with httperf on my local workstation. Mongrel is
started directly with the mongrel_rails command and there is only one

Configuration Error?
I''m trying to get a rails app running with this configuration:
Mongrel, Apache 2.2, mod_proxy load balancer and Rails 1.1.6 error
I have a rails app on another server working with (apparantly) the
same configuration and it runs fine so I''m stumped.
I''m wondering if anyone has any insight into the error I have pasted
below.
It seems to be one of those errors that

Mongrel 0.3.13.4 headers seem a bit broken...
I''m running a Rails (r4720) app on OS X 10.4.6. Mongrel 0.3.13.3
works perfectly for me. Mongrel 0.3.13.4, not so much.
Redirects don''t work, for one thing. This rails code :
redirect_to :action => ''login''
correctly redirects me on 0.3.13.3. Here''s the header I get back :
HTTP/1.1 302 Moved Temporarily
Content-Length: 93
Connection: close

Mongrel 0.3.13.4 -- PIDs Work, Win32 Gem
Alright, this time a small announce going out to *just* the mongrel list
so I can get some early testing.
There''s a new pre-release of 0.3.13.4 out that includes the win32
version of the gem.
** WIN32 USERS SHOULD INSTALL THIS AND TEST.***
***** BUT NOT ON PRODUCTION SYSTEMS. ******
As usual, you install it with:

really a GemPlugin/mongrel_cluster question
Hi folks,
I''d like to run the Mongrel prerelease (0.3.13.4 prerelease) and
mongrel_cluster 0.2.1 on my shared host (which doesn''t want to
install prerelease software for all to use). I can install the gems
in my own directory, and run mongrel 0.3.13.4 with --prefix just
fine. However, I think due to the GemPlugin structure, even my new
mongrel_rails loads up

Just want to get out another ping on the Mongrel pre-release saga. I''ve

asked over the past month.

Mongrel on CentOS 4.3 / RHEL 4.3 64Bit
I tried to install Rails + Mongrel on CentOS4.3 64Bit (my provider only
has the 64 Bit version available).
I found out, that I have to install gcc and emacs-common and have to
copy the *.h files of the ruby source into a certain directory (see below).
But finally I get an error messag when I start mongrel and I have no
idea how to solve that problem:
