Simply RESTful deletion
Evening all! I''m playing around with the new Simply RESTful plugin, and
I''ve got a question about the *_url methods.
>From what I understand, given a Page model, there are three _url methods
provided:
- page_url
- new_page_url
- edit_page_url
I''m a bit disturbed that there are only three, but that aside...
To delete a resource, I would say:

Use Non CRUD with Simply RESTful
Hey guys,
I''m trying out the new RESTful bits in Edge Rails, and am having a bit
of trouble wrapping my brain around certain things. For instance, say I
have a page that is separated into sections with tabs at the top. I want
to replace divs on the page with RJS.
Now typically before I''d have a method on the controller that rendered
an RJS template to accomplish this.

How to detect and simply signal that the DB is/got down?
Hi all,
If the DB server is down when the rails server starts, or if it gets
down while the rails server is running, I need to
- detect the problem
- display a simple error message "DB is down: contact support".
Inserting
ActiveRecord::Base.retrieve_connection()
at the very begining of ApplicationController will trigger an error -
that can be captured - when the class is

Simply Restful: Can''t create update forum
Views
<code>
<% form_for :user, @user, :url => { :action => "update" }, :method =>
:put do |f| %>
...
<% end %>
</code>
Outputs
<code>
<form action="/users/1" method="post">
...
</code>
It sends post instead of put. I don''t see any hackish hidden put stuff
in the form either.

simply limit interface bandwith
Hi there,
I am quite new to lartc and the usage of tc commands is still very
difficult for me. All examples I have read (including the lartc.pdf) are
way too complex for my "simple" problem.
I just need to hard limit a given interface to a bandwith (egress and
ingress) like:
eth0 inbound 1000kbit
eth0 outbound 1000kbit
No priorities, just a bandwidth limitation per device.

How to simply compile a 2.4.18 custom kernel in the xenU way
Hello,
I am brand new to Xen, i first hear of it 3 days ago, and install it
yesterday for the first time from the source code.
My aim is to get ride of vmware for some "maquetage" (french word meaning
modelling a platform before deploying it).
My only problem is that i need to use a custom kernel, an old
2.4.18specific one.
And I am wondering what is the easiest way to generate a xenU

[PATCH v2] kexec: simply pass LINUX_REBOOT_CMD_KEXEC to reboot
While trying to port kexec cleanly to klibc,
came across this syscall usage for reboot(2).
Calling reboot directly simplifies the code.

How to use * to simply skim off callerid (UK)?
Hi all,
I'm wondering how I could go about placing * into an existing office PBX
system so as to capture callerid for further processing via AGI into an
intranet app.
I've already got the AGI scripts set up for what I want to do and have
tested using IAX2 peering, however I have no knowledge of the target
environment as yet, so would like to know what do I need to look out for

Incoming calls picked-up then simply hanged-up
I had the same issue at one stage although it was with call files -
check what your WaitTime is. Mine was set to 5 which means 5ms so only
half a ring and then it would hang-up.

need a simply configuration for calling in/out to PSTN
Hi all,
I have configured Asterisk to call to PSTN phone from
our IP phone, But I am unable to call my IP phone from
a PSTN phone (If I called any number between 21494350
and 21494399, the card should route my call to my IP
phone, IF my configuration was correct). I have done
my research and gathered bits and pieces of
information (which are vague by the way) but still
cannot call my IP phone from

Simply Accounting on Samba 2.2.5
Hello,
I have recently migrated my Win NT4 server to Linux with Samba 2.2.5 :-)
One of the applications we need to run is Simply Accounting 9.0 / 2003 in
multi-user mode. The company that makes Simply Accounting sais the data
must be shared from Win NT,2000 or XP but sharing it through Win 95,98 or
Samba could corrupt it. I know that Simply Accounting stores the data in
.SDB database file

can I remove all printer functions by simply add some build option?
Hi,
I'm trying to transplant samba 3.2 to my mips board. I did it but smbd
is too big, about 8MB, I decided to reduce the code size. I just want the
file share/display funcs between my box and windows PC. The first function I
want to drop is network printer. So is there a specific option to drop all
printer code? It seems to take quite a lot of time to let me comment out
