error creating Centos 5.1 x32 dum_U instance on CentOS5.1 x64
Nah, RHEL 5.1+ supports 32-bit domU (PAE and non PAE) on 64-bit dom0. Actually RHEL Xen is 3.1 with the brain damaged 3.0 userland utilities. -Ross ----- Original Message ----- From: centos-bounces at centos.org <centos-bounces at centos.org> To: CentOS mailing list <centos at centos.org> Sent: Fri Feb 29 04:46:42 2008 Subject: Re: [CentOS] error creating Centos 5.1 x32 dum_U

moving from RH8 to CentOS5.1
Hi all, Is there a way to 'automatically' recreate users/permissions when moving from RH8 (yes, I know...way old) to CentOS5.1 or is it just simpler to recreate the users manually? Total users on this system is < 20. Thanks in advance, -Ray

Re: Centos5.1 x64 kernel works, x64xen doesnt. Fails withrepeated "drive appears confused".
CentOS 5.1 actually has at least Xen 3.1, I believe. CentOS 5.0 was a 3.0.x version, but 5.1 upgraded it... -Nick >>> On 2008/05/29 at 22:32, jamesjames <jab.nabble@species.org> wrote: Not sure the proper etiquette for this, but since I dropped a dmesg dump over on CentOs I thought it would be more polite to post a link to it here, rather than posting it all here too. CentOS5.1 with routed domU
Is there anyone have a domU with routed networking functioning correctly and willing to share their configuration file with me? I must be doing something wrong, but I just can''t see what it is. Comparing with a known functioning configuration would be very helpful. Thanks, James _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com

Running CentOS 4.6 domUs on CentOS 5.1 dom0 and domUs crash
I have a CentOS 5.1 dom0 running on a machine with two cores and 4gb of memory. It runs three 4.6 domUs and one 5.1 domU. Just out of the blue the other night all the 4.6 domUs crashed, but the dom0 stayed up. I ran xm console (domU-name) and got the Oops information below. I didn't get anything from the 5.1 domU. I think it had been rebooted a few days before and hadn't come up

new CentOS5.1, samba help requested
Hi all, I'm fighting with samba on a new CentOS 5.1 install. The goal here is to have unix/linux usernames/passwords used for the samba shares (which i'll setup using webmin, as I find it easy that way). At present, the home share and one for the company's public share are in place. I can see the server, browsing from WinXP to \\172.16.0.106, but permissions seem amiss. I

Where is the blktrace utility?
I keep reading that RHEL/CentOS 5 supports blktrace, but I can't seem to find the blktrace/blkparse utilities. Is it that just the functionality is available in the kernel, but the user is left to have to hunt down the latest versions of the utilities on the net? If anybody knows where to get the latest versions of these utilities I would greatly appreciate it. Ross S. W. Walker

Yum install preferred arch only
I have a couple 64-bit CentOS 5 installations here and was wondering if there was a yum option to have it install only x86_64 arch by default if no arch is specified. I tired of having to append .x86_64 on all package names I only want the x86_64 versions of, if I want the i386 versions too I would add the .i386 package to the list... Thanks All, Ross S. W.
