/etc/samba/smbpasswd keeps changing - pulling my hair out
This is really bizarre. Running Samba 3.0.4 on SuSE 9.1. The password backend is smbpasswd. Each user has a system and samba account and everything has worked as expected until recently. But now, every new user I create is unable to log into Samba server (older users are still able to log in). Inspecting log.smbd the following messages are displayed: [2004/07/22 11:44:56, 2]

CVS-HEAD and Caller ID -- Pulling my hair out!
I have looked into this callerid problem now for a few hours. 1) Caller id on a sipura-2000 now shows: cidname 2000 Where cidname is the new outputted formate from the cid_rewrite agi script and 2000 is the exten number. In looking at the Dial() application, option "o" 'o' -- Original (inbound) Caller*ID should be placed on the outbound leg of the call

Pulling Hair Out - TWiki 4.2 on CentOS 5
I thought I would turn here before giving up. I am trying to install Twiki 4.2 on CentOS 5 with all updates. (I also tried Twiki 4.1.2 as well) I am running a custom rolled Apache 2.2.8 server and custom rolled PHP 5.2.6 (built with oracle support). These work and are rock solid. I've been using the same config with very heavy duty scripts and php applications with no issues. When trying to

SPA-1001 behind NAT -- mucho hair pulling
I've got a Sipura SPA-1001 that I'm trying to get working with an Asterisk server that's on the public Internet, while the SPA-1001 is behind NAT. I did the first obvious thing and mapped ports 5060 and 10000 - 30000 to the local IP address of the SPA-1001. Tried numerous proxy settings, have all the NAT settings == yes. Registration seems to be happening; with sip debug on, I see

(if this post gets line-feed-mangled please read http://www.dl.reneschmidt.de/shorewallxenpost.txt - that''s an unmangled version, thank you) Hello, first I would like to thank the Mr. Eastep and contributors for this great piece of software and superb documentation. I have a SOHO server (Debian testing) that I''m using for several purposes so I''ve set up a Xen

pulling my hair out over voicemail
Ok, I have spent all night trying to figure this out, and hopefully somebody has a similar experience. I have a very basic asterisk config. Sample configs, with the only addition being by SIP phone, and my incoming voip. Last week I got everything setup, calls were working, etc.,. I cam across a tutorial for voicemail, followed it, and it worked. When I call my phone and dont answer, it goes

[SPAM] Xen bridge network issue
Hi, I have taken the long and winding road and indeed it lead me to your door. I need your help, please. My Xen includes 2 guests. Xen itself (10.2.0.52) gets free access to the outside world and to its guests. Both guests however (10.2.0.54/10.2.0.55) see each other but stay under house arrest! Not a single ping manages to go past the bridge (xenbr0) and get an answer from the default gateway

Small Problem has me Pulling my Hair out
Hello, I am sorry to write into you guys so late but I am baffled here. I had this SAMBA server blasting along a month ago with a DOMAIN at my NOC in Austin. Then I brought it to a new site and it no worky. Yes, the DOMAIN is different and I have been battling all day to reconfigure this thing to the domain. I have lost the battle and have reverted to basic configs which still do not

routing and virtual machines: how to access dmz if bridged to two networks
I am not quite sure if this issue relates to iptables, routing or Xen virtual machines. Too many variables for my simple mind, so I'm asking some advice :) This is my network setup: Internet --- eth2 + CentOS dom0 / firewall / router + eth1 (xenbr1) --- LAN with private IPs --- separate file server and workstations + eth0 (xenbr0)

can ping domU VPS, but can''t SSH into it
Hi all, A client just phoned me and said he could not SSH into his VPS, yet he can ping it. So, I login to the host node, and check it out, can''t SSH into. I shutdown iptables on the VPS (via xm console serverza.vm) but still can''t SSH into it. I restart the VPS, still can''t SSH into it. So, I check the host, and found this in /var/log/messages: Jul 22 19:19:07

storage servers crashing, hair being pulled out!
I have a trio of servers that like to reboot during high disk / network IO operations. They don't appear to panic, as I have kernel.panic = 0 in sysctl.conf. The syslog just shows normal messages, like samba complaining about browse master and then just syslogd starting up. The machines seem to crash when I'm not near the console, usually when I'm trying to pull data off them to

Arp Flip Flops make machine inaccessible.
CentOS 5.5 Xen "standard" Xen Installation. I have two nics. I just put the second one to DHCP and modified the ifcfg-et01 and so far I am holding, but I am not confident. Prior they were sequential IP Addrs on same subnet. arpwatch has indicated flip flips. I can find no rhyme or reason to predict them. I know I missed I must have missed a step somewhere. I want to keep the

Dear Community, i have a problem with a new debian XEN 64bit squeeze Server, when i started a windows hvm domU. I tested with the routed and now in the bridge network mod. Compiling from source and networking problem
Hey, I was originally asking questions on xen-users but no one seems to have any idea about this so I figured I''d try this list. I compiled Xen from source (3.2 testing) on an Intel machine running Fedora Core 8 and have discovered that my guest (Windows Vista) does not have a network connection. Looking at various online documentation and a machine that does work, I guessed that I
