Wiki license, again
and this time with a decision, please.
Hi,
I just had a talk with someone on IRC who wanted to reuse stuff from
<http://wiki.centos.org/MarketingMaterial> and asked me about the
licensing of content on there.
Which made me think "Well, let us restart this discussion again". We
*do* need a license for content on the wiki. The three licenses we're
favouring (well, sort of)

HowTos/MigrationGuide
Please (particularly Smooge) review and comment on the new content at
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/MigrationGuide
Based heavily on the pieces I added earlier to
http://wiki.centos.org/Migration/5
Tried to keep it general.
Would assume that we want only one page on Migration with sub-pages for
specific versions. I referred to the CentOS 3 FAQ entry on WBEL
migration but it would seem to be

I'd like to contribute two wiki articles
Hi,
I've written two small howtos, and would like to contribute them to the CentOS
Wiki. The first one is "How to install CentOS 5 on software partitionable mdadm
RAID1", and the second one "How to repair a software mdadm RAID5 with two or
more failed disks (if you know that information is still on the disks and
readable)". I think that the first one should be somewhere

Spacewalk howto for CentOS 5
Hi,
I would like to contribute a howto page about the configuration of
Spacewalk for package management under CentOS 5. Spacewalk is the
upstream project for the source of RedHat Network Satellite. It provides
a management interface for software updates across registered servers
and desktops.
Here is were I would like to put this page:

What I would like to contribute with
Hi,
I saw some errors in the "Amamda backup" article that I would correct
and then I would like to start a "Banners" article that describes what
files have what meaning like, motd, issue, issue.net and what info they
should/could contain.
I have also worked a lot with Asterisk and is keen to move the Fedora
1.4 to CentOS addons but I don't know if this is the right forum.

License of the nutshell package
Hello,
I wish to package the nutshell package. I need help to understand which
license is relevant.
The upstream page at
http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/nutshell/index.html says
that the license is "file LICENSE".
This is further explained at
http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/nutshell/LICENSE as

I want to contribute to the wiki
Greetings,
I just signed up on the CentOS Wiki as user ScottDowdle.
I'd like to update one page and add a new page... so when a AdminGroup user notices and has the time to do the deed, please allow me the following:
1) Update - http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/BrokenVserver
I would like to add an explanation on why some VPSes do not include yum. I'm a long time member of the

Hmm . . . I see that you do have edit rights to every page under
wiki.centos.org/de/
Will you please check and report back your current status?

Encrypted partition short howto
I've written a short howto on creating and mounting an encrypted
filesystem using dm-crypt. The doc currently lives on our internal
wiki (Trac) at work, but I'd love to rewrite and post for a general
readership. I suppose the proposed URL would be something like

How to replace ntfs by ntfs-3g?
Hello,
I can write to an ntfs partion if mounting it by hand with 'mount -t
ntfs-3g /dev/sdf5 /mnt/xp'. But if I use the mount option from the kde
Storage Media panel applet (kdebase-3.5.4-13.6.el5.centos) then the
partion will be mounted without write support. So how to say kde and
CentOS to use ntfs-3g and not ntfs? Maybe by changing some links?
Thank you very much.

Documentation Licenses again
Hi,
the thread discussing licenses for the Wiki content (and maybe for other
documentation coming from the CentOS project) somehow slept in during
discussion.
That's why I want to reopen discussion:
So far we found 4 licenses which should be inspected a little bit deeper
(pros and cons are from me). This is if we *want* to have the content in
the wiki under some form of license.

Mounting cifs shares by non-root users on CentOS 4.6
I'm trying to set up mounting of a Windows share for non-root users via
/etc/fstab on a CentOS 4.6 box - I've followed the instructions at:
<http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/WindowsShares>
Using something like the /etc/fstab example given in the wiki page
(with, of course, using a valid share, username and password for my set up):
