Merging 2 contribute pages
Hi, I have merged the HowToContribute and Contribute pages onto the Contribute link. But the tab on the top points to HowToContribute, while the link on the first page references the Contribute page. Is it possible to link the Contribute tab on the top to the Contribute page instead and then remove the HowToContribute page ? I now added a simple #REDIRECT (after trying to rename it over a

CentOS Wiki: Contribute permission request
Dear Sir or Madam, According to the policy described in http://wiki.centos.org/HowToContribute and after receiving the attached email from Ralph Angenendt <ra+centos at br-online.de>, I respectifully request permission to post a "How to contribute RPMs to the CentOS Project" document; the basic text is currently at http://durval.com.br/CentOS_RPM_Contrib_HowTo.html (it would of

Structure for Contribution Pages
Hi Guys, While updating es/ pages, noted that actually there are two Contribute pages. One in Contribute and other in HowToContribute. I wonder if we could reorganize that a bit. Maybe separate contribution needs by SIGs. Then create a Contribution index page where all those SIG's contribution pages be linked from ? It may be needed to create some SIGs in those areas where they don't

OpenSSL binary compatibility between CentOS 4 and 5
[Re-sending ...] I would like to ask why upstream and CentOS provide no compat-openssl packages like Novell does in SUSE. We are trying to install binaries for gLite (a huge toolkit for grid computing linked against upstream v4 libraries) on CentOS 5. I was under the impression that this would be possible because v5 is "binary-compatible" with v4. But it seems this "binary

Welcome to the team
I would like to formally welcome Matthew Martz to the CentOS team, he has volunteered to take on the role of Mirror Administrator, so hopefully things will get done quicker now we have a dedicated person and I would like to express all of our thanks to Matthew for stepping in to this role. If you are interested in volunteering to help with CentOS and have skills that you think we need , take

Request for wiki editing policy change...
I'm a newbie at centos (hence my visiting a wiki on the subject in the first place) but pretty savvy about wikis. I got an account (Jen.RM) with the wiki thinking that would let me edit a writeup that was broken. Then I clicked on the contribute tab thinking that maybe someone had renamed "edit" and I ended up here: http://wiki.centos.org/HowToContribute Having run wikis and had

CentOS Wiki
Hi there, my name is Sebastian Dziallas and I would like to contribute to the CentOS Wiki. I thought a bit about what I could do and I think I would like to help translating the wiki in other languages. I speak English, German and also French. My UserName is - what a surprise - SebastianDziallas. On the HowToContribute-Page you said that I should know where to put the articles. As you

New mailing list and wiki contribution
Have some Tips and Tricks for doing stuff the easy (and right) way? Ever wanted to do that writeup of what you achieved with spec files? What about that news server howto in the upper drawer of your desk? That apache tuning paper on your computer? Your shortcut collection for Gnome? Or whatever might help people with using CentOS? This is your chance: We're looking for contributors to the

Opening of the wiki Part III(?) ...
... which will hopefully be the last part. Sorry that it took that long, but I didn't have too much time on my hands over the last two months or so. This is what should be the last stages of opening up the wiki: a) I have changed the account creation page: <http://wiki-m.centos.org/UserPreferences>. Please view that page while logged out of wiki-m. b) While doing so I have

free dids on goiax.com
GoIAX, the Asterisk community's free IAX provider, is offering free US dids now. I loaded about 175 dids in and put up a very beta sign in page. Unfortunately I had to restrict the free us/canada outbound calling back down to toll-free only. There was a lot of war dialing and prank calling going on. I'm working on some stuff to hopefully curb that kind of stuff down so I can

Suggestions for a new shaper
Guys Reading through my lartc mail, and thinking on how to tackle my next shaping solution, gave me an idea. I''d like to propose this idea for scrutiny and if it sounds viable I''ll definitely need to start developing in due time. For me in my day to day work with developing network application specifically geared for middle-tier ISP''s, and reading on other peoples

which firewall to automatically block bandwidth abusers?
Hi, I'm looking for a firewall (preferably on Linux / UNIX) that could automatically block bandwidth abusers as soon as a connection goes over a certain speed, or limit - i.e. either more than say 3Mb/s or 10GB in a giving period (like weekly / monthly). But, I need it to block the IP to, or where the traffic comes from, or goes to. i.e. a user logs into a web server and upload a LOT of

How to log caller IP address in the CDR?
Hello We had this situation: Some bot-net did try to guess SIP logins and finally succeeded. The Asterisk Server was abused to call a large number of expensive destinations. It is clear that the sip logins have been passed to various persons (probably posted on a forum somewhere inviting to do 'free calls'). Right after the affected password was changed, the message log shows which

modern-CentOS-1.7-2
Hi, the layout on wiki-m.centos.org looks pretty convincing to me, now. Two things: <http://people.centos.org/~ralph/pagetrail.png> - the pagetrail stuff isn't readable at all. I propose the following patch to screen.css: -----%<-----%<-----%<-----%<-----%<-----%<-----%<-----%<-----%<-----%< --- screen.css.orig 2007-11-15 12:35:59.000000000 +0000
