Histogram with two colors depending on condition
Dear List,
Say, we generate data like this-
dat<-rnorm(1000,1,2)
hist(dat)
How do i make the histogram, say, red (col = 2) before X = dat = 0, and rest say, green (col = 3) beyond X = dat = 0 in R?
The resulting histogram could be like this http://ehsan.karim.googlepages.com/histogram.JPG (edited)
Thanks in advance.

[LLVMdev] participating in GSoC 2008 in LLVM
Hello every body,
I am a Computer Science and Engineering final year undergraduate in here
[1].
As you all aware of GSoC 2008 program is now on [2]. I would like to
participate in this on a project on LLVM. The reason why I selected LLVM is
I am really interested in compiler theory.
I took the one semester course on compiler theory and developed a lexical
analyzer in C for a subset of Javascript

if - else
Greetings,
I have some confusion with the use of if - else. Let's say I have a
four variables as follows:
Condition DateFound DateFirstEvent
DateSecondEvent
NA 10Jan2000 NA NA
0 05Jan2000 07Jan2000
10Jan2000
1 07Jan2000 07Jan2000

Bug or not?
Thanks again.
This works and the heat has dropped substantially. It is still not as
cool as I would like but this will do for now. I still need to file a
bug report with the intel / apple gmux people.

Bug or not?
Hi Pierre,
No worries about the response time. I remember when the features
matrix was mostly todo's. Clearly you folks have put in a ton of work.
I would feel bad about trying to shove a developer into my problem and
I do not have the time right now to join the development team. Besides
my day job I am currently writing a library to interpret BSDL files
(JTAG).
I am having a bit of trouble

Multiple column/row names?
Hi all,
I wonder if there is a way to create a matrix with two (or even more)
column/row names? Thank you very much.
Have a nice day.

BETA testers for xlsReadWrite? (natively read/write Excelfiles)
Dear UseRs,
I have an update ready for the xlsReadWrite package. It runs my unit
tests just fine but there are quite a lot of changes and it would be
good if some other people could try it out before it will be submited
to CRAN. I won't have more time this week, but I hope to publish
xlsReadWrite at the end of next week and I will incorporate eventual
bugreports and/or (minor) suggestions

Can R do rts (Regular Time Series) like S-Plus?
Dear readers,
S-Plus have a rts function (Regular Time Series), which is used like so:
fveks<-read.csv('http://louise.hoffman.googlepages.com/veks.csv',header=TRUE,sep=',')
attach(fveks)
acf(ts.intersect(rts(HC.f),rts(Ta.f),rts(GR.f),rts(W.f)))
Warning the csv file is 750kB.
Can the same be done in R?
Lots of love =)

annotating a filled contours plot with a grid of points
Dear R-help members,
I am trying to plot annotate a filled contours plot (with filled.contour)
with a grid of points. I have read ways of annotating it with individual
points but not with grids in another matrix.
Any ideas?
Thank you very much.

Bug or not?
The first grep of dmesg is for the apple info so you know exactly what
box I have. The second is to show that I am booting in EFI mode and
not some bogus bios compatibility thing. The third is to show the gmux
version. The fourth is to answer the question you actually asked.
$ cat /proc/version
Linux version 3.19.0 (root at turingatlarge) (gcc version 4.7.3 (Gentoo
4.7.3-r1 p1.4, pie-0.5.5) ) #3

basename/dirname produce incorrect results
The incorrect result incurs when the file path contains Chinese character.
It seems that dirname/basename action on unit of byte instead of char, so
the result in the following example is half of what is expected.

[LLVMdev] Adding ClamAV to the llvm testsuite (long)
Hi,
We are getting closer.
1. In Makefile, all the references to CFLAGS should be CPPFLAGS instead.
2. filterdiff.sh uses sed -re. This causes a problem on Mac OS X where
-E means using extended regular expression, not -r.
sed: illegal option -- r
usage: sed script [-Ealn] [-i extension] [file ...]
sed [-Ealn] [-i extension] [-e script] ... [-f
script_file] ... [file ...]

X<-c(x1_2,x2_2)

Problem with downloading workspace file from a web address
Dear All,
To load a previously saved workspace, one can do the following:
load("/path/to/the/saved/workspace/file")
However, if the path to the saved workspace file is a web address, one
gets the following error:
?Error in readChar(con, 5L, useBytes = TRUE) : cannot open the connection
In addition: Warning message:
In readChar(con, 5L, useBytes = TRUE) :
cannot open compressed file
