Not able to see public shares on W2k from Linux
Hi all,
I work with linux and SUSE 8.1 in a W2K PDC environment. I successfully
configured Samba to be able to connect from the Wk2 computers to
linux and vice versa with one exception:
I'm not able to see the public shares of the window computers from linux
(NetShareEnum failed, NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED)
unless I provide a username and password. From Windows to Windows it's no
problem

smbclient no connect NetShareEnum failed
Running recent cvs from head branch, attempting to list shares on a
machine running win2k. Can anyone tell what is wrong here.
It does have several shares including a printer. I can connect with:
smbclient /chub/SHARE -U Adminstrator (and get prompted for password)
What does the line `NetShareEnum failed' below, mean
(Sorry about verbose output)

This spnego stuff makes me think about "client ldap sasl wrapping = sign"
to be added in some cases. There are threads related to that posted
recently.
Disabling spnego is, if I'm not mistaken, disabling Kerberos. Disabling
Kerberos should not be what you really want with AD : )

NetShareEnum counterpart
Hello,
I am searching for a Samba counterpart of the Windows API function
NetShareEnum
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb525387%28VS.85%29.aspx - a
function that lists the smb resources of a given server.
It googled quite a lot and had a quick look on the libsmbclient header
but did not find anything that helped.
`smbclient -L' does what I look for amongst other things ... I am

NetShareEnum bug on Win 2003 Server
Hi all!
I believe there is a bug regarding NetShareEnum command when run
against a Win 2003 server.
When run I only get back one share and then I get Segmentation fault.
Using NetShareGetInfo 'sharename' works perfectly and also NET LIST
SHARE.
Any suggestions?
Samba version is 3.21.rc-1 running on a FC 4 machine.

Henrik

Using rpcclient with my NetApp fails
Hello:
I have a Netapp 8.2.2P1 7-Mode connected to my Active Directory domain
and the following rpcclient command on CentOS 6.5 is bailing on the
following error:

I've tested this with all stable version of 3.6 etc. I have not tried
the python based rpcclient command yet though.
But after a bit of debugging, it seems that

smbclient -L
I have a samba 2.0.6 server. It's running domain security with NT
4.0 Sp 5 as a PDC. That all works great.
When I run smbclient -L against 95,98,or other samba servers I get a
list of shares. However against NT4.0 (workstation and server) I get no
share listing at all. I can retrieve browse lists. I am suspcious here

Problem accessing NT
Is there a way that an NT administrator can block
a connection if they determine it is from a Samba
box as opposed to Windows95/98?
Encountering problems trying to view NT shares from
a Redhat 6.1, Samba 2.06 system. I can view shares
from another Redhat 6.0 linux box. Don't know a lot
about the NT box but believe it is very current because
the hardware is new as of June 99.

Help with windwos 2000 and Samba 2.0.3 / can't see shares
I reported this (or tried, I emailed the bug list with the results with
debug set high). Both 2.0.7 pre1 and the CVS today won't show shares.
I note that tcpdump apparently shows that it is trying to negotiate an
old protocol - I can see the decode of the Win98 traffic, but not W2K.
It fails on the routine that does the get next share name.
Basically with W2K, smbclient -L won't show
