freeNX page additional note
Ralph,
ScottRobbins has a useful note to add to the FreeNX article. You can
see it in this Forum post:

Could you give him edit rights to that page?

FreeNX authenticates but no desktop on centos 5 ??
Hi all,
I am new to CentOS and freeNX -- both look really awesome, a huge thanks to
all the people making them happen.
I am having a problem with freenx that appears to be specific to centos 5.
my client authenticates but then no desktop comes up. however, when I
connect to a similar machine running centos 4.4, I authenticate and the
gnome desktop just pops up sweet as can be. I also have a vnc

We have created a new version of freenx (freenx-0.5.0-8.c4.noarch.rpm)
and moved it to the testing repo.
This is based on the code displayed at the LWE in San Francisco ...

FreeNX for 64 bit.
Is three any rpm for Nx for 64bit Centos? Or can I use these rpms?
(freenx-0.5.0-10.c4 and nx-1.5.0-1.centos4). I have been searching for this
quite some time and did find any.
If some one could tell me how I could install FreeNx and Nx for Centos 64

Thanks

new freenx and nx RPMS released, manual action for x86_64
There are new RPMS released for nx and freenx in the CentOS-4 and
CentOS-5 Extras repository.
I normally do not announce that here, as those can easily be obtained on
a normal "yum upgrade/update", however in this case there are special
actions required *_IF_* you have the x86_64 architecture for either
CentOS-4 or CentOS-5 with the current versions of nx and freenx installed.

xeyes kills freenx session
I was trying an assortment of things to get a remote X session working
(where I had forgotten to install the xauth package...) and noticed
that running xeyes kills my freenx session. This happened whether in
the NX/freenx session itself or when run on a remote machine via 'ssh
-Y', started from a window in a freenx session. Is that a known
problem or do I have something set up wrong?

freenx/nx server part
The CentOS wiki has a page regarding the nomachine nx client setup ...
But i think that a page describing the server part, including ssh key
authentication, can be interesting for people wanting to use nx/freenx.
Because by default, it will modify sshd_config to allow password
authentication (even if configured manually to not do so ...)
Range : can you create a new page ? or do we have to edit

New freenx-0.6.0 and NX-2.1.0
All,
I have put in the testing repository a new version of freenx-0.6.0 and
nx-2.1.0 for both CentOS-4 and CentOS-5.
This is using one set of SRPMS to build on either CentOS-4 or CentOS-5
RPMS.
To get files from the testing repository, see:
http://wiki.centos.org/Repositories
Make sure you have the .el4 packages if testing on CentOS-4 or the .el5
packages if testing in CentOS-5.

centos5.4 and freenx - using my home dir and settings
Hello all,
I am setting up freenx on a machine and I am able to connect to it
remotely. However, when I connect and start xfce it does not appear to
use the correct settings. It acts like it is a whole different user.
It is starting the desktop environment as the nx user rather than
myself. Is there any way to have the NX server connect as myself rather
than having a whole separate

Unsigned nx/freenx packages in Centos 6 extras repo
Hello,
I've encountered an error updating nx/freenx:
Package nx-3.5.0-1.el6.centos.x86_64.rpm is not signed
Both nx and freenx packages in Centos 6 extras repo are not signed, is
this correct?

FreeNX Shadowed Desktop issue
Hi All,
I'm hoping someone will be able to offer some advice on desktop

[james at localhost ~]$ rpm -qa |grep nx
nxclient-3.2.0-9
freenx-0.7.3-1.el4.centos
nx-3.2.0-8.el4.centos
And I can NX in using two separate test user accounts.
However when I try to enable shadowing I

FreeNX on Centos 5.7
HI All,
I am new to Linux so please bare with me.
I am running Centos 5.7 with FreeNX-0.7.3-8.el5 and I have successfully
installed everything and configured my first user. However when I log in
using the NX Client I see the desktop however I don?t have mouse or keyboard
access. Is there a setting I have to apply in order to get mouse and
keyboard access?
Thanks,
