public key for verification of Syslinux distribution
Dear SYSLINUX Team, Thank you so much for a great system. I really appreciate it. I downloaded the latest Syslinux distribution, available on www.kernel.org, to a Microsoft Windows machine, and attempted to verify the distribution: gpg --verify .\syslinux-6.03.zip.sign.txt .\syslinux-6.03.zip gpg: Signature made 10/6/2014 11:32:37 AM Central Daylight Time gpg: using RSA key

Customized theme for Syslinux.cfg
Thank you Gregory your code worked to remove the border in syslinux! It wasn?t the Alpha (that changes the opacity of the border color), but it was the ?shadowing? that had to be changed, so ?none? in the shadowing column worked(you notice the border come back if you change ?none? to ?std?) reference this link for terms: https://wiki.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php?title=Menu#MENU_COLOR ! Customized theme for Syslinux.cfg
Thanks Gregory, my mistake, your explanation was half right and your code was fully right, I meant to say the key is setting the first two digits in the foreground and background to "00" (which means transparent) this will delete the color of the border, and then making the shadowing variable equal to "none" this will delete the shadowing black line that appears by default. See

optimizing traffic to a web server
Hi, I have a Linux server and provide Internet access in the neighborhood and I also run a web server on the same machine. Although our external connection is not bad, the access to the web server from outside is awful - the web pages always require "Try again" when accessed. Do you think I can prioritize the traffic to the web server? How? I have a traffic shaper of the internal and

Knocked port timeout...
I''ve been using the port knocking technique described in the Shorewall docs to control ssh access on one of our servers: http://www.shorewall.net/PortKnocking.html It works great, but occasionally one of the admins forgets to perform the close port operation. This leaves ssh open to the world until one of us notices. I''ve considered adding a cron job to close the port every

Question for Dev's on NUT's upsstats.cgi
Hey guys, New user to NUT and was playing with the upsstats.cgi. On my website, I have everything going through a wrapper script that frames the pages. So my web files are actually truncated since the wrapper installs all my headers for me. When using the upsstats.cgi, it works fine embedding it into my pages and then editing the .html template EXCEPT, I can't get rid of: Content-type:

running .exe files from a Unix share without specifying .exe extension - is it possible ??
Hi gurus, I have mapped drive V:\ on my win2k pro from a SAMBA share on a Sparc/Solaris 2.8. When I cd to v:\ and type the filename without specifying .exe after it, the system cannot find it. If I map V:\ from another share, this time a windows machine, this works great. On local drives as well - windows assumes .exe extension and calls the file. This is not a path problem, as the executable
