SYSLINUX 3.50-pre16 released ... RELEASE CANDIDATE
Hi all,
I have finally gotten SYSLINUX 3.50 what it feels like feature-complete
for release, or something pretty close to it. As a consequence, I am
declaring 3.50-pre16 a release candidate. Here is what's news since 3.36:
Changes in 3.50:
* New keywords allow the type of file to be specified in the
configuration file.
* It is now supported to load a different

NOTABMSG issue with 6.03
Hi all,
I can't suppress TAB menu prompt and I wonder if this feature is working or not.
I'm using extlinux and here is a cut from extlinux.conf:

Menu entry shifts to the right, when using "{,x}"
Hi,...
my linux distribution is "arch-linux" and I use syslinux 6.03 to boot
this system. I have the following line in syslinux.cfg:
"MENU AUTOBOOT Automatischer Start in # Sekunde{,n}"
While the boot timer counts down, on the last second the menu shifts to
the right (one less character to display). This is completely harmless,
but is very annoying, once you have seen it.

isolinux, extlinux and accented characters
Hello,
First of all, thanks very much for this piece of software, it's working
like a charm.
I'm using it to boot a Linux distro I'm working on.
What I want to deal with is the display of accented characters in ISOLINUX.
First, I set EXTLINUX up to boot an ext2-formatted USB stick. No problem
so far.
I wrote a config file ordering to load a font (lat-9w) to display french

Find reason for heavy load
My Centos 5 server has seen the average load jumped through the roof
recently despite having no major additional clients placed on it.
Previously, I was looking at an average of less than 0.6 load, I had a
monitoring script that sends an email warning me if the current load stayed
above 0.6 for more than 2 minutes. This script used to trigger perhaps once
an hour during peak periods. Even so, I

No, it gets not re-centered. That is my point.

bug or user error - menu.c32 in syslinux-3.62-pre11
Im trying to use newer simple-menu features,
and have found that the following config-file
(closely based on wiki pxelinux example)
- fails for 3.62-pre11,
- works for 3.62-pre10
where 'working' is successive reloads such that re-edits of file are
seen on next reload
and broken is issuing this error:
Initial menu has no LABEL entries!

ISOLINUX stuck at boot menu. How do I debug ?
I have just created an ISO containing Fedora and ISOLinux as the bootloader.
This is the ISO creation command:

"Fedora-WS-Live-31-1-9" -A "Fedora-WS-Live-31-1-9" -b isolinux/isolinux.bin

Compiling Menu.c32
Hello,
First, could you make a tar.gz instead of a tar.xz (at least on debian)?
I compiled the syslinux-4.05+dfsg
I would like to ask you if I shall copy the menu.elf + menu.c32 to the
concerned directory?
The menu.elf is needed or it shall be renamed as menu.c32 ?
Shall ldlinux.sys be too coming from same file?
my simple example of menu:
default menu.c32
prompt 0

tapply confusion
Hello
I have a huge data frame with three columns 'Roof' 'Month' and 'Temp'
i want to run analyses on the numerical Temp data by the factors Roof and
Month, separately and together.
For using more than one factor i understand i should use aggregate, but i am
struggling with the tapply for single factor analysis.

Fallback to second menu entry, ONERROR looping forever
Hello
I want to fallback to a second boot entry, if the kernel is missing for
the first entry.
So I through I could use ONERROR, but syslinux just continue to try
starting the first entry.
Am I doing something wrong? or can't this be done with syslinux?

PATCH: Let "dhcp" command iterate over interfaces like autoboot()
Hello all,
I was reading http://www.etherboot.org/wiki/appnotes/autobootchainurl,
and figured that as long as I was going to be modifying the code I
might as well try a cleaner solution. ?Attached to this message is a
patch that makes the following changes:
1) Allow the "dhcp" command to accept a list of interfaces and to try
them in order until it succeeds, e.g.:
?gPXE> dhcp net0

Mixed effect models
I am using two mixed effect models. Firstly, what I am trying to do is to
compare green roofs abundance with brownfield, green roof with green space
abundance, and finally green
space with brownfield abundance. I am unsure if I have done the
correct model. I have to use a mixed effect model because my data is
nested.
This is the code and output

Du meintest am 25.06.13:

(sent to you and to the mailing list; some robot blocks the list ...)
Additionally:
Compiling (with "make bios") worked.
Running "pxelinux": more problems than with 5.10.
5.00-pre6: all worked fine

Ideas for contrib infrastructure
Especially with Murali's stuff the question about how to handle contrib
stuff that isn't part of the syslinux core has come up again.
I think it's necessary to make it clear that it's not part of my stuff
to keep the support load under control.
I see a couple of possibilities:
a) Inclusion with the syslinux source in a contrib/ directory, with
subdirectories for different
