Problem with gnome
Hi all,
I am using Centos 4.1 with Gnome and my updates are OK (When I do yum
update, I have nothing anymore)
Normally, with GNOME there's a task bar in the bottom of the screen. If
we open an application and we minimize its window, it is always
avalaible in this task bar. There are other things in this task bar : a
button on the left which is used to minimize all the opened windows and

sort of fread to read from a file at fixed positions?
Hello everybody,
I need to read a file with a header (EDF files, recorded
electroencephalogram signals) that has fixed byte positions for each
field of its header.
These fields have no separator between them, for example:
<8 ascii name of the patient><10ascii start time of the recording><4
ascii ... > etc.
I read that perfectly in Octave by using fread, fseek and other

Compile R package under Windows
Hi.
I need to compile an R package under Windows, to get a zip file.
I can't used the web services, because it is avalaible only for the current
version of R while I need of a package compiled with R 2.13.1.
The package contain C code that requires the GSL C library.
In your experience, what is the best way to compile an R library? I read
the R manuals, now I need some tricks with

GPU Temperature?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi there,
I just wondered if there is an open-source way of getting information
about the temperatures provided by the internal sensors. I've read that
nvclock is providing such information but only if the binary driver is
installed and used.
When I run 'sensors-detect' is see three adapters provided through nouveau:

[Discussion] User controls for PowerManagement
With some progress in PowerManagement support (there's a patch nearly done for
reading the P-tables, written mostly by xexaxo, derived from thunderbirds
nvclock, with 0x40 adjustments from myself) in my opinion it's time to think
about the user aspect of this.
My personal idea for GPU scaling was similar to that of CPU scaling in
appearance eventually. When you look at the cpufreq-applet

Hey Attila,
I CC'd the nouveau mailing list. Although if you want help, you should

OpenGL context switching with Noveau
Context switching = very slow on NVIDIA. Don't do it if you can avoid
it. Each context is like a megabyte of data, if not more. Each time it
has to get saved off and restored.

[PATCH] drm/noveau: fix reference count leak in nv50_disp_atomic_commit
nv50_disp_atomic_commit() calls calls pm_runtime_get_sync and in turn
increments the reference count. In case of failure, decrement the
ref count before returning the error.

Noveau Driver NVIDIA wake from standby display activation issues
Hi,
Turning off a connected TV, and then turning it on causes issues with re-negotiating a connection to the display.
The error message was pasted into an open document that was actively under edit with the program nano. I assume messages are sent from somewhere destined for stdout; or something has redirected it. Either way, I think this may cause issues with bug reports. It looks like a dmesg

noveau: emergency shutdown handling is overcomplex and broken
Thanks for the pointer.
But I don't like this patch. If you find a bug, make a bug report or
just fix it if you know the fix already. Or write something in IRC. Or
write on the Mailing list as a general question or something else
But I really don't agree on doing it this way. You would have needed
like the same amount of time to actual fix the problem.
Anyway, for adding a printk:
