Merb, Mongrel+Erb

I''m happy to announce the first useable release of my new pocket-
framework Merb. Merb is a mongrel handler with built in controller
and view templating with erb. It has a nice routing system similar to
rails but much simpler. It uses some of the code from the camping
handler and the rails handler and then some of its own secret sauce

Mongrel crashes - bad doggie
Hello List,
I have a production machine with very low ram (Xen Virtual Server) that
runs mysql and lighty->pound->mongrel (2 instances). About once a day,
one of the mongrels just locks up, leaving that in its log files:
*** glibc detected *** /usr/bin/ruby: free(): invalid next size (fast):

That process (mongrel) will stay locked, not answer any connections
anymore and

index.html.erb
Hi Everyone,
A newbie question, I have my subdomain pointing to th respective
app/views folder however the browser does not default to the
index.html.erb , so instead I just have file listing. When I click on
the index.html.erb it does work fine. What do I need to do to get it to
work so it automatically load when a user goes to that view folder.

Brand new to rails: can't get databases to work
Just starting to learn rails. All is going well, until I tried to hook
up a database.
"undefined method `model'' for ZingerController:Class" is the message I
get from the server.
I imagine I''ve left something out that is keeping me from connecting
to the database, but I''m not exactly sure what.

I am not sure what i am doing wrong here, but no matter what i try i get no
output from mongrel_config:

What is the fully-qualified variable name format for external and factors variable in template erb file?
Trying to cleanup warning messages like the following:
Dynamic lookup of $domain at /etc/puppetlabs/puppet/modules/centrifydc/templates/centrifydc.conf.erb:222 is deprecated. Support will be removed in Puppet 2.8. Use a fully-qualified variable name (e.g., $classname::variable) or parameterized classes.
Do I simply replace <%= domain %> with <%= ::domain %> ?

Accessing rails helpers when processing erb snippets
I need to be able to merge a lot of content for web pages, along with
links to other pages taken from a list of categories. The text that goes
with each category can be different depending on the context that it''s
displayed in.

[slightly OT] Apache 2.2.2 proxy config
Apologies, this may be off-topic.
I''ve been wrestling with upload issues and Apache 2.2.2 /
mod_proxy_balanacer / mongrel_cluster / Mongrel on Mac OS X Server 10.4.5.
Typically the first upload would be fine but the next would make the mongrel
instance remain running (ps state = "R") essentially locking up that
instance. Apache would then eventually do:

Mongrel, development mode, and deleting/moving templates
I''m not sure what''s to blame, but it seems that if I delete or move a
template, restarting is necessary. For example, I recently moved a
partial from app/views/members/_login.rhtml to
app/views/members/_login.mab, after which I got a blank-page-of-death.
Once I restarted my Mongrel cluster, it worked. Shouldn''t changes like
this get picked up automatically in
