Wine success: HABit Wordstar Converter (version 3)
I had need of a bit of computer archeology (oddly enough, for a couple of archaeologists, but that's another story). I used Henry Bartlett' HABit Wordstar Converter (version 3) (http://www.hotkey.net.au/~hambar/habit/wsconvrm.htm) to convert some Wordstar for Mess-DOS files to text and HTML. It worked just fine under wine (http://www.winehq.org). wine-20041201-1fc3winehq on Fedora Core 3

Delorme Street Atlas 8 and ISO images
Being lazy, I'd just as soon not be swapping CDs in and out of the CD drive to use Street Atlas 8. So I slurped the SA 8 data CD into an ISO image, which I then mount as a loopback device. I created a symlink in ~/.wine/dosdevices, s: (and it took me a while to get the syntax for that right :-). winefile and fn.exe (http://www.charlescurley.com/fn.html) have no problems with the iso image. Re: My VMs don't get IP with libvirt and dnsmasq
Hi, I've seen this before. First, the simple steps: have you started that network? (virsh start network-name) do you have installed the tools to work with bridges in your OS? can you check if the bridge exist in your OS and if the vm's interface is attached to it? In rhel you use the command brctl to do that, don't know about ubuntu... Best Regards, DR On Thu, Apr 16, 2020 at

NetworkManager dnsmasq plugin
I am trying to get dnsmasq to work through NetworkManager by putting dns=dnsmasq into /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf NetworkManager still works but dnsmasq doesn't start. I get this error in /var/log/messages: could not load plugin 'dnsmasq' from file '/usr/lib64/NetworkManager/libnm-settings-plugin-dnsmasq.so And the referenced file doesn't exist, as stated. So

libvirt/dnsmasq is not adhering to static DHCP assignments
This is basically a continuation of an older posting[0] I found, but apparently no solution has been posted. So, I'm trying to setup static DHCP leases with dnsmasq that is being started by libvirtd: ----------------------------------------------------------- $ sudo virsh net-dumpxml --network default <network> [...] <dns enable='no'/> <ip

Is there a front-end for using xapian-omega rather than the terminal? Could a Xapian database be accessed from web-browsers?
Hello friends, I have installed xapian-omega for my system installed from Official Debian GNU/Linux Live 11.6.0 lxde 2022-12-17T11:46, It is an old edition but I am okay with it, I tasted the power of xapian while using recoll. I read that xapian is a powerful database building package for character strings, and indexes a directory of files really well. I want to use xapian-omega as a customisable

add external access to routed dnsmasq
I have created a routed virtual network. From within the routed net, DNS requests to the dnsmasq interface virbr2 work fine. On the libvirt host, DNS requests to the dnsmasq interface virbr2 work fine. I would like to allow external hosts, on the same network as the libvirt host, to query the dnsmasq interface. However external DNS queries to the virbr2 interface time out. The iptables firewall
