No, it's not part of RHEL9 , and it's built and maintained by the Kmods
SIG (see https://sigs.centos.org/kmods/) as a

CentOS 9 Stream on Workstation with Ver. 1 x86_64 cpu
Hello All,
RHEL9 deprecated version 1 x86_64 cpus. My old testbench HP workstation
has such a version 1 cpu. I've tested install of Rocky Linux 9 and
CentOS9Stream but no go upon reboot after install -- kernel panic.
Is there a way to recompile the kernel to handle the legacy cpu after
install -- via some other live cd, perhaps?
Due to the fact I can't reboot after install, I'm not

New C7 kernel ABI and kmods
All,
This is just a heads-up that the new C7 update kernel breaks ABI
compatibility, at least as far as using the ELrepo nVidia drivers is
concerned. I have posted more details to the ELrepo list; but since
many folks use the Elrepo kmods I thought a heads-up would be appropriate.
If you use the ELrepo nvidia kmod you will either need to hold off on
the kernel update or uninstall the nvidia

Mirror problems with elfutils-debuginfod-client
The package elfutils-debuginfod-client is needed for even a minimal
install, but it is not available on most mirrors. I suspect some are
excluding mirroring debuginfo packages with just a *debuginfo* pattern
to rsync, where they should do something like *-debuginfo-*.rpm (which
should be good for now as I don't see any package with just "debuginfo"
in the name, even in Fedora).

[PATCH supermin] init: Add a blacklist of kmods that we want to exclude from the mini initrd.
We want to exclude virtio-gpu since it's irrelevant, large, and pulls
in other unwanted dependencies (modeswitching, drm). Add a second
list of kmods which is a blacklist, applied after the first.
This reduces the libguestfs initrd size from 39M down to 17M, with
concomitant small reductions in boot time.

Working Documentation Toolchain [GSoC]
Hi,
The basic toolchain is up and running. I encourage community to test
this workflow once. It is an addition to the existing contributing
mediums.

Finished a prototype of GSoC project: Implement a new doc toolchain
Hi,
Kunaal and I have completed a prototype of the first part of our GSoC project (implement a new doc toolchain). Our goal is to implement a doc toolchain for short how-to docs and lower the barrier for new comers to contribute.
This is the workflow of the prototype:
1. Contributor creates a new pull request on GitHub
2. A corresponding issue is automatically created on Pagure
3. Staff and

There have been some questions about how the GSoC project interacts
with the existing documentation work that happens around the wiki.
Let's get all the open questions in to this thread and discuss them.
Lei, Kunaal -- What other open questions do we have?
Anyone else with open questions?
The GSoC project is supposed to be additive to what we

grDevices segfault when building R4.4.0 on RHEL 9.1.
Hi Ivan,
An apology, I was away for quite a bit.
To reproduce the setup:
I have been using the default GCC in RHEL 9.1.
gcc -v
Using built-in specs.
COLLECT_GCC=gcc
COLLECT_LTO_WRAPPER=/usr/libexec/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/11/lto-wrapper
OFFLOAD_TARGET_NAMES=nvptx-none
OFFLOAD_TARGET_DEFAULT=1
Target: x86_64-redhat-linux
Configured with: ../configure --enable-bootstrap --enable-host-pie

How to resolve OCaml-augeas dependency for Guestfs build on Ubuntu 22.04
Hi Libguestfs team,
I'm trying to build guestfs on Ubuntu 22.04, but getting below error.
#17 8.021 checking for OCaml findlib package augeas... not found
#17 8.024 configure: error: the OCaml module 'augeas' is required
By guestfs-building doc I need to get the package from https://people.redhat.com/~rjones/augeas/. But there is not instructions on how and where to place the package

kmod-jfs on Centos 6
I am a bit of a noob with Linux and Centos but would like to be able to access an old external USB disk formatted JFS by OS/2. I have seen there is a kmod-jfs package on elrepo that ought to work with Centos 6 but am unsure how to install kmods without hosing my existing system...
If anyone would like to be so kind to give me a short how-to, I would be very grateful.
Thank you.
