qeum on centos 8 with nvme disk
Hi All - I use qemu on my centOS 7.7 box that has software raid of 2- SSD disks. I installed an nVME drive in the computer also. I tried to insall CentOS8 on it (the physical /dev/nvme0n1 with the -hda /dev/nvme0n1 as the disk. The process started installing but is really "slow" - I was expecting with the nvme device it would be much quicker. Is there something I am missing how to

lpSolve: how to allow variables to become negative
Dear all, I am interested in solving a MIP problem with binary outcomes and continuous variables, which ARE NOT RESTRICTED TO BE NEGATIVE. In particular, Max {z1,z2,z3,b1} z1 + z2 + z3 (s.t.) # 7 z1 + 0 z2 + 0 z3 + b1 <= 5 # 0 z1 + 8 z2 + 0 z3 - b1 <= 5 # 0 z1 + 0 z2 + 6 z3 + b1 <= 7 # z1, z2, z3 BINARY {0,1} # -5<= b1 <=5 (i.e. b1 <= 5; -b1 <= 5 ) Using

using LVM thin pool LVs as a storage for libvirt guest
Hello, as usual, I'm few years behind trends so I have learned about LVM thin volumes recently and I especially like that your volumes can be "sparse" - that you can have 1TB thin volume on 250GB VG/thin pool. Is it somehow possible to use that with libvirt? I have found this post from 2014: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libvirt-users/2014-August/msg00010.html which says

Multiple class C addresses
I have gotten Samba to work but them came up with a problem. It is working on a mchine with the class C address 198.xxx.xxx.xxx. Any PC's with that on that IP address can see the server just fine. However, we also have another class C 207.xxx.xxx.xxx and folks on that one cannot see the server. We have seen this problem before and NetBeui solved that one. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Re: using LVM thin pool LVs as a storage for libvirt guest
Please don't use lvm thin for vm. In our hosting in Russia we have 100-150 vps on each node with lvm thin pool on ssd and have locks, slowdowns and other bad things because of COW. After we switching to qcow2 files on plain ssd ext4 fs and happy =). 2017-11-04 23:21 GMT+03:00 Jan Hutaƙ <jhutar@redhat.com>: > Hello, > as usual, I'm few years behind trends so I have learned

Re: using LVM thin pool LVs as a storage for libvirt guest
Do you have some comparasion of IO performance on thin pool vs. qcow2 file on fs? In my case each VM would have its own thin volume. I just want to overcommit disk-space.
