USB device not connected (CentOS 5.3)
I just tried this with CentOS 5.3 as well, and got exactly the same symptoms and dmesg output. (As a point of comparison, Ubunu 8.04 on my work laptop is able to access the drive.) Obviously "not detected" is a misapprehension, though I'm puzzled why "lsusb" doesn't show it. The device is there even though the partition table can't be read. ---------- Forwarded

3TB External USB Drive isn't recognized
We have a 3TB external USB drive that I am trying to attach to some CentOS5 servers. I have tried an older Dell PE1950 and a newer R310 but neither one seems to be able to read the drive. It works no problem on windows servers/workstations and I was able to format with NTFS. I know there are different methods for formatting large disks but this one doesn't even seem to show up as a

Asterisk with a laptop with built-in Intel 537 modem
I have * working on my Sony Vaio PCG-FX120 laptop. I am trying to get * to recognize my internal PCI Intel modem as an FXO port. I have modified wcfxo.c in order to identify the PCI modem properly. Based on output from dmesg, wcfxo didn't recognize the modem until I inserted the proper vendor and device IDs into wcfxo.c and re-compiled. Note that the error message from "modprobe

Tripp Lite SMART2200RMXL2U and Fedora Core 6 (NUT 2.0.3)?
Hi, I'm running Fedora Core 6 and need to monitor a Tripp Lite SMART2200RMXL2U. I've loaded the nut-2.0.3-2.1 RPM. The UPS is connected via the provided USB cable, and that much appears to work: # dmesg | grep -i tripp hiddev96: USB HID v1.10 Device [Tripp Lite TRIPP LITE SMART2200RMXL2U ] on usb-0000:00:1f.4-2 # lspci | grep -i usb 00:1f.4 USB Controller: Intel Corporation

Fedora Core 4 not recognizing X100P cards
I am getting quite frustrated today, so please bear with me. I just installed Fedora Core 4 (was running RedHat 9 with a working Asterisk) now my Fedora does not appear to be recognizing my X100P (clone) at all. Hardware browser just shows them as unknown device. driver: hisax So, of course, my zaptel drivers do not work and therefore my asterisk does not work. any help would be greatly

FW: [Asterisk-Users, Andrew] Will Echo problems EVER be solved, I'm scared
Thank you for the suggestions Andrew. I have not come across some of them before and will give them a shot. Based on my reading, changing the motherboard should have minimal impact unless that motherboard and the TDM400P don't get along (aka. IRQ sharing). I have disabled everything that is not needed and I do not believe I have any IRQ problems and I am NEVER wrong ;). Calls are crisp and

PROBLEM: Filesystem became readonly, then kernel crashes on shutdown
Hi All, I just had "an issue" with my Linux 2.6.1 kernel. While working, I tried to rf -rf a directory, and was told my filesystem was mounted readonly (which it wasn't). I then shut the machine down, and on shutdown, I got a "kernel BUG at fs/ext3/super.c: 411". Full report below: Mike [1.] One line summary of the problem: Filesystem became readonly,

aspi error ASPI_ExecScsiCmd in Wine
Has anyone encountered the same problem: I want to read a special kind of floppies under Linux. These floppies can only be read by an USB floppy drive that is made by a company that also delivers a (Windows) program to read these floppies. It has a SCSI interface and it makes use of the aspi drivers. The aspi dll's are copied to the correct locations in Wine. Wine added 2 SCSI drives to the

fsck failing to notice that the block device was pulled out from under it?
Hello, tl;dr: it seems like fsck fails to notice when the block device disappears from under it. I have the following setup: * external USB disk * a partition with LUKS in it * ext4 filesystem inside the LUKS block device While doing backups to it I noticed that after some time backups would fail with an error (failed to write, ). In the following log I'm attaching the disk, enabling LUKS

X100P random hangups - Please help with suggestions
Thanks for the reply Bill. I am aware of the interrupts problem. To solve it I have already disabled my serial ports freeing up interrupts 3 and 4 and these are allocated to the two cards. This was done 2 months ago and has not solved the problem. Is there any way that something can wake up every now and then and generate these two interrupts? My current /proc/interrupts is as

Overriding inbox= in userdb extra fields
Hello, I'm trying to set up an alternate user with a different inbox using passwd-file and userdb extra fields and the extra field settings don't seem to be taking effect. I've used auth_debug and mail_debug and I'm unclear how I can further troubleshoot this. Is it possible to have inbox=yes in one namespace globally and then override this for one user by setting inbox=no for
