coloring wireframe plot with independent/separate matrix of color values.
Dear R Users,
I am trying to plot a matrix (a Digital Elevation Model) using wireframe
[lattice] and color that matrix based on a separate/independent matrix of
the same resolution (both have the same number of rows and columns) as the
DEM. More specifically I would like to plot a DEM using wireframe and
color each cell/tile based on interpolated surface temperature
measurements. Within the

Conexant fax/modem not faxing with sendfax
I finally picked up a "real" modem (not a winmodem) and put it in my
machine. I pulled down the hsfmodem driver from the source, got a license
and installed the driver at full power.
If I use wvdial, I can get out through the modem, so I know that works.
However, sendfax is rejecting the fax capability (from
/var/log/sendfax.log):

[LLVMdev] linux build problem
Since yesterday I've been getting the error below when building llvm-gcc
on Ubuntu Hardy on x86. For some reason, several instances of autoconf
are getting confused and failing to detect a stdlib.h.

lme4 problem: model defining and effect estimation ------ question from new bird to R community from SAS community
Hi R community,
I am new bird to R and moved recently from SAS. I am no means expert on
either but very curious learner. So your help crucial for me to learn R.
I have already got positive expression.
I was trying to fit a mixed model in animal experiment but stuck at simple
point. The following similar example is from SAS mixed model pp 212.

Zero-inflated regression models: predicting no 0s
Hi all,
First post for me here, but I have been reading on the forum for almost two
years now. Thanks to everyone who contributed btw!
I have a dataset of 4000 observations of count of a mammal and I am trying
to predict abundance from a inflated-zero model as there is quite a bit of
zeros in the response variable.
I have tried multiple options, but I might do something wrong as every

syntax for interactions in lme
Hello,
I am trying to make the switch from SAS, and I have a fairly elemental
problem with syntax using the nlme package for analyzing mixed models.
There was a previous question on this topic posted to this list, so I
apologize for redundancy, but I didn't understand the advice given to
that inquiry. The model I want to run has the following factors:
Host (fixed)
Sire (random)
Dam

Help with Subtracting an effect from a Mixed Model
Hi Everyone,
I posted a similar question about a week ago, but haven't gotten any
replies -- I'm afraid that's because my previous question was too
vague. Let me try again with a more specific question, and I hope
someone can help. NOTE, I know I should be using the newer lme4
package, I just haven't had a chance to update my version of R yet, so
the question below relates

Re : LOOPS
Dear lists,
I want to construct a loop in R, but don't know how to do it. I can do it
in SAS, but I prefer in R (which I am hoping I will off SAS for good
soon). Could anyone help me to convert the SAS codes to equivalent R codes.
Basically, the following codes were written to establish the sire gametes
or phases for daughter design for one markers two alleles.

loop over large dataset
Hi All,
I'd like to ask for a few clarifications. I am doing some calculations
over some biggish datasets. One has ~ 23000 rows, and 6 columns, the
other has ~620000 rows and 6 columns.
I am using these datasets to perform a simulation of of haplotype
coalescence over a pedigree (the datestes themselves are pedigree
information). I created a new dataset (same number of rows as the
pedigree

[LLVMdev] linux build problem
I'm away from my Linux machines, if this hasn't been resolved by tonight
I'll send more details.
THe problem in cplus-dem.c is that CPP is conditionally including code
that comes when HAVE_STDLIB is not defined, including an alternate
protptype for malloc() that conflicts with the existing one. This is just
what causes the error I sent-- no idea what the root cause is.
Thanks,
