dansguardian+squid masquerading not working
Hello Everyone!
I am using shorewall-3.0.5 on suse linux.
Recently we have implemented dansguardian running on 8080 and squid on
port 3128.
Previously (before dans guardian) masquerading was working fine but
after the implementation of dansguardian masquerading is not working.
My rules file has entry
Previous entry was
ACCEPT loc:192.192.192.3 net
REDIRECT loc 8080 tcp

[Shorewall-users] Redirect loc::80 to fw::3128 not work (fwd)
I''m beginning to believe that the use of the last column in the rules file
to designate redirection/forwarding is too subtle for many users. For 1.3,
I think I''ll do something like the following:
Current rule:
ACCEPT net loc:192.168.1.3 tcp 80 - all
New rule:
FORWARD net loc:192.168.1.3 tcp 80
Current rule:
ACCEPT net fw::3128 tcp 80 - all
New rule:
REDIRECT net

Squid as a transparent proxy
Hi,
I followed the instructions in the section "Squid
(transparent) Running on the Firewall" on
http://www.shorewall.net/Shorewall_Squid_Usage.html to
setup Squid transparently on a Linux gateway. My net
is as follows:
loc subnet --- fw Linux Gateway --- ADSL router
192.168.1.0/24 192.168.1.92 (eth1) WAN.WAN.WAN.2
(gw = WAN.WAN.WAN.WAN (eth0)
192.168.1.92) (gw =

Shorewall redirect with Squid and Dansguardian
Hi all,
I''ve just built Mandrake 10.1 on a Compaq Deskpro that I''ve built as a
router/firewall and am redirecting port 80 outbound to force users through
the Content Filter. I''ve run this setup on Mandrake 9.0 and 10.0 without any
problems but this time the following happens.
Squid is accessed through port 3128 and Dansguardian via 8080.
If I set my browser on a

transparent proxy with shorewall
Hi,
I followed the instructions posted on the
shorewall web page for transparent proxy, but I
still cannot get it to work.
I have almost the same setup as described on the web, running squid on dmz, eth1, and the loc on eth2.
I can see that packets going out from the fw, they are not sent to the squid proxy, and if I try to telnet to the squid proxy to port 80, where I should be directed to

Hi all,
This one really beats me. I''ve run out of idea how to get this right (well, I
plan to format it and replace with mdk9.2).
I''m running a gateway on mdk9.0 box using gShield. Now, since I have been
using shorewall on my notebook with great satisfaction, I want to replace
gShield with shorewall.
So, I set it with this

Shorewall and squid not wokring together
Hi everybody. We are running Shorewall and Squid on
Suse on the same box. Each is working fine
independently, but we can''t get them to cooperate. The
access log in squid shows no requests when Shorewall
is on. Here are all the changes we made in the
configuration files. Everything else is the same. We
have read through the mailing list and the guide, but
still haven''t figured it

Shorewall Settings to view internal websites
We are trying to configure shorewall as follows:
1. We have shorewall running at gateway (172.16.1.1) with NAT.
2. We have a number of web servers (172.16.1.x/24). These web servers are
accessed through port forwarding at the gateway (172.16.1.1) and websites
are visible through virtual hosting through a web re-director.
3. Presently the proxy server runs in a transparent mode, i.e., all web

Problems with Rules?
Hi -- I was happily running Shorewall 1.4 for quite a while, then upgraded
recently to 2.0.13 (Debian Linux, Exim4, Squid, no DMZ) and can''t get
Shorewall working. When I start it, my ssh and pop3 access is immediately
blocked locally.
This is a very simple setup. No dmz, just ETH1 to the Internet and ETH0
local, with IP Masq. Turned ON. I would appreciate it if someone who has a

Running Shorewall with Squidguard on same machine
Hi,
I''m trying to get Shorewall to work with Squidguard on a machine which
is acting as the fileserver, firewall, proxy server and internet access
point for a small network. The network at present consists of the
fileserver/firewall machine running RH 8.0, two Linux boxes running
various RH distributions and two windows virtual machines running on the
other machines under Win4Lin.

Shorewall + Squid transparent + Apache
I remember to see something about that in shorewall.net some time ago,
but I could not find it today ...
The case :
Debian Etch, Shorewall 3.2.6, squid3 and Apache 2 .
The first 3 where already running fine for some time ...
Now I need to setup an Apache server to allow some web mannagement,
things like PHPsysinfo, phppgadmin, just for internal net, no web access .
but port 80 is redirected to
