CentOS-6.10 We have a host with the following ifcfg file contents: BOOTPROTO=none BROADCAST="" DEFROUTE=yes DEVICE=eth1 . . . hosts allow/deny not working correctly in 2.0.3 or 2.0.4b
I am having difficult getting the hosts allow/deny to work with IP ranges or netmasks. Ideally I would prefer to use the IP/Netmask method, e.g. 111.22.33.0/255.255.255.0, because we have a flat ATM network with multiple class C's (netmask is really 255.255.252.0). This, however, doesn't work!! I can't do 111.22.33. either... I can't even do specific IP's, e.g. 111.22.33.44

Create a VPN network with some PC clients.
Hi to everybody, I want create a VPN with some PC clients and only one server, instead of LAN-to-LAN, but I'm not very sure how to do this. For example, I need to have: - Server LAN -------- (192.168.0.1/24) ---- tinc-VPN ---- (192.168.100.1/24) - Client-01 LAN --- (192.168.50.1/24) ---- tinc-VPN ---- (192.168.100.10/24) - Client-02 LAN --- (192.168.80.1/24) ---- tinc-VPN ----

It's part of the IP address - so you put something like 192.168.0.1/24 for a 255.255.255.0 subnet. It's called a CIDR address. P.

netmask set with ifconfig doesn't hold
I gather that ifconfig is a way of setting the netmask in the current shell instead of a persistent value.? I say this because I am running it and see it for my specific network interface, directly after running it. However if I restart the network service the netmask is reverted to the previous value. What is the correct way to set the new netmask for the network interface to make it persistent.

Problem: IP-Config: Unable to set interface netmask (-22)
Hi all, I tried to boot up a VM using two options (a) reading boot information from a config file (b) adding boot information directly to the command line. However, I got "IP-Config: Unable to set interface netmask (-22)" problem when using option (b). For (a), I don''t have such problem. The boot information for both (a) and (b) is same. Could you please let me know what I am
