Hello you all,
with the new samba version out that fixes some problems with dns
scavenging I have decided to try this feature.
I was specifically interested for our reverse zone (PTR records)
We have one zone for VPN clients 8.0.10.in-addr.arpa. I activated the
feature in the smb.conf as well as in the Windows DNS manager.
Entries are deleted (not visible in DNS manager) after a while.
You can

samba49 offline join
Hi list,
Ive generated a samba 4.9 AD, which is running properly. Now I want to
understand how to use the "samba-tool computer" command for offline
joining windows clients.
First I created a machine name (this is identical to <ComputerName> in
unattend.xml?):
root at ad49:~# samba-tool computer create cnpc11
Computer 'cnpc11' created successfully
root at ad49:~#

Fail kerberos method = secrets and keytab and net offlinejoin requestodj
Hello everyone,
For the context, I'm trying to add support for offline join in WAPT WADS
OS deployment [1]. Currently WADS supports offline join of Windows
computers, and I want to add support for Linux computer using SSSD as a
authentication client (for the persons who might dismiss this mail
because of a certain keywords, yes it is related to sssd, but it
triggers a Samba bug). I also

Problem to join Samba 4 DC an existing Windows AD
Hai Marcio,
Please keep mailing to the list, that helps everybody. ;-)
Question, does the Windows AD domain contain MS Exchange also?
Ow and my bad.. This : samba-tool domain tombstones expunge
You need to purge the tombstones on the windows server,
but forget that all.
I had a new look and noticed:
root at samba4dc:/etc/init.d# samba-tool domain join empresa.com.br DC

samba-tool dns zoneoptions --mark-old-records-static
But this one return a lot of objects :
sudo ldbsearch -H ldap://server1 -P
-b"DC=example.com,CN=MicrosoftDNS,DC=ForestDnsZones,DC=exemple,DC=com"
-s sub '(&(objectClass=dnsNode)(!(dNSTombstoned=TRUE)))' dnsRecord name
@Wilfred : Sorry I fogot an argument, but if I ajust the command I have the
same answer than with --mark-old-records-static=2021-03-30

'samba-tool domain tombstones expunge' fails to remove expired tombstones
On a particular DC, running 'samba-tool dbcheck' produces the following:
NOTICE: found 2 expired tombstones, 'samba' will remove them daily,
'samba-tool domain tombstones expunge' would do that immediately.
When I run 'samba-tool domain tombstones expunge' the following is produced:
Removed 0 objects and 0 links successfully
