I have an SuSE laptop and I want to setup a CentOS VM via Vmware 5.5 If I insert the dvd and boot the new vm I get 'no operating system found' It seems to be a non-bootable dvd. Hi i just swicthed from opensuse and having some issues that were not present in suse. 1. add/remove software (package management)does not work. Opensuse flawless working. 2. how to add dvd as repository. in suse it was automatic. i choose centos b/c it has the longest upgrade cycle. i am using centos 5.1 on vmware server but if i cant solve it i will switch back to suse. I am trying to find how to update CentOS 7 using the DVD. In the past, C6, just insert the DVD, select "install or update" from the boot menu, continue, and later select update and continue... done... reboot. I dont see that on the C7 boot disk. How is that accomplished? Thanks, Jerry

I just installed centos 7, yum is acting strange, experiencing RPC time-outs. Sometimes when I disable the additional repos (epel and rpmforge) it seems to make things act normal.
