Bridging Firewall with windows OpenVPN road warriors?
I have previously set up an openvpn LAN to LAN bridging VPN so I know a
little about what has to happen. The gateways on either ends were
running older version of shorewall that did not support openvpn directly
so I just basically opened ports for it and used bridging with tap
interfaces. I am no longer using that vpn link to the other house but
now that i''ve upgraded I would like

Postfix not set top start after upgrade
I noticed that after the lastest yum update on CentOS 5.6 we get Postfix
2.3.3, but the status of the postfix service (chkconfig --list postfix)
changes to off. So after a reboot, it doesn't start automatically.
I don't recall this ever happening before. Is this by design? A
packaging error?
Thanks,

DNS not working?
Can''t figure this one out:
I''ve been running shorewall 1.4.10 for many months now on a Fedora Core
1 machine.
Just finished setting up a new machine (Fedora Core 2) with shorewall
2.0.9. In the new installation, I editted the shorewall config files,
copying over my rules, masq entries, policies, etc to each new file.
Shorewall startup goes thru fine.
Today I switched between

Bridges, ebtables and OpenVPN [non member]
Hi all,
I''m trying to use OpenVPN as a VPN solution on a firewall running
Shorewall. The IPSEC VPN I tried first has shown a little bit unstable
under several conditions, especially with Windows clients.
As OpenVPN is best run in ''bridged'' mode (see
http://fedoranews.org/contributors/florin_andrei/openvpn/), I became
interested in the bridge capabilities of

samba-3.0rc1 Can access PDC but not others
Hello,
I am trying to migrate an NT domain from an NT PDC to a samba3.0 PDC
without disrupting users or requiring them to change passwords, etc. The
complication is that there are NT fileservers in the domain already, so
it's important that the users be transferred to the samba machine with
SID's and RID's intact (so they can access these shares with the same
permissions).

Bridging problem with Shorewall and OpenVpn
Hello All,
I am trying to implement OpenVPN on Fedora core Linux 3 with the latest
pathces

server, with kernel 2.6.1-1.27.FC3 and kernel 2.6.1-1.27.FC3 SMP
It has two NIC''s eth0 (10.0.0.150) connected to ADSL, eth1 (192.168.3.12)
connected to the local network.
I use shorewall 2.4 on this machine.
I like to test

OpenVPN (bridge) -- is this a shorewall issue?
I am trying to make the following connection:
WindowsXP(OpenVPN-Client)->shorewall->Internet->LinksysWRTG->OpenVPN-Server
...of course the reverse path too.
The OpenVPN server is running in bridge mode.
When the openVPN client is launched it looks like a successful connection is made. The openVPN client
gets assigned an address from the openVPN server pool. The OpenVPN

Openvpn, bridge and shorewall
Hi,
I have a Linux firewall based on shorewall with 2 NIC and ADSL (ppp0). My ppp0 ip is fixed. The internal NIC, eth1, is bridged with tap0, tap1 and tap2 to form br0. br0 subnet is 192.168.2.0/24.
The firewall is configured to masq internal traffic and block whatever needs to be blocked. It is also configured to tunnel openvpn v1.6.
I have a roaming laptop running XP. I can create a tunnel

Windows users can't change password 4.1.6
Just to be sure: Your real realm does not end with .local, right? In an another thread it was not recommended to use TLD .local. The wiki says this also.

Problem with ACLs
Hi,
i want to use unix groups in my ACLs.
http://wiki2.dovecot.org/ACL says, I can do that with a post-login
script (http://wiki2.dovecot.org/PostLoginScripting).
I have verified, that the script is running, and that ACL_GROUPS is correct.
But I still can't access the Mailbox.
Logfile says:

msdfs proxy question
Hi List,
I am struggling a little bit with the msdfs proxy parameter.
I want the samba server as a kind of a bridge between two networks, that
the samba server only shares some of the shares provided by our file
server to a second network.
I don't want the samba srv to be a gw or give the clients a route to the
internal network, because it is a total different user group.
I first tried to
