Problem with FreeSwan and Shorewall on a LEAF(Oxygen) based router.
Hello, I seem to have the Freeswan IPSEC tunnel working between my two sites, but I am still having a problem that looks to be because of something I have configured wrong in my shorewall setup.. I have a LEAF Oxygen < 1.9 heavily modifed firewall setup.. Using FreeSwan 1.91, and Kernel 2.4.8. Modified to use IPTables and standard Debian network/interfaces. I am also using Shorewall

[leaf-user] RE: CF Boot media creation
I'm home at last. I did a mixture of things. I downloaded DOS6.22 floppy from putergeeks.com, extracted my old syslinux 1.75 (dos version) into the same boot floppy and made my CF /dev/hda1 as suggested by Luis (Hail O King - my saviour). Lo and behold it went thro' like a hot knife thro' butter. syslinux did not complain at all. I did an xcopy /s of my D: (hard disk) to my C:(CF) and

[leaf-user] RE: CF Boot media creation
Hi, I had the same problem last week. I got it work when I used an old syslinux (the one from Daschtein Utils). I think that the problem is with newest version of syslinux, but could get confirmation from the syslinux group. Nick "S Mohan" wrote: > > I'm home at last. I did a mixture of things. [leaf-user] FW: CF Boot media creation
I downloaded DOS6.22 image from putergeek.com. Used fdisk from that floppy and format from that floppy. Still no luck. If I execute fdisk under leaf (monkeynoodle.org) as fdisk/dev/hdc, and give p for print partition table, I get the following: Disk /dev/hdc: 16 heads, 32 sectors, 123 cylinders. Units = cylinders of 512 * 512 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/hdc1

shorewall compile as non-root user
Hello, please excuse me if this has been discussed or even solved before, but I could not find it in the archives. I''m in the process of migrating several gateways to shorewall-lite, keeping the configfiles on one central adminstrative machine, basically following the guide at http://www.shorewall.net/CompiledPrograms.html . As I understand it, the local /etc/shorewall directory on the

Small Modification to the Shorewall Release Model
After gaining some experience with the new release model, it has become apparent to me that a small adjustment is warrented. I previously announced that updates to the stable release would only contain bug fixes. I''m modifying that slightly to allow for small low-risk enhancements; large and/or risky enhancements will still be restricted to the development release. We have seen this

CentOS press kit
Hey Looking at the Fedora ML there is some commotion about a Press Kit [1] they are constructing. I am thinking about doing something like this for CentOS. Now comes my question, what do people think should belong in such a kit. Do you think this is needed? Cheers for your help, Didi [1] https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/F13_press_kit -- Hoffmann Geerd-Dietger http://contact.ribalba.de

Dev kit and poor audio quality
Hi All... I spent many hours playing with Asterisk after my dev kit arrived today. One thing I noticed right off is that the audio quality of the voice mail menu items is quite poor. I thought this was a little odd, since the quality of the recorded messages was quite good. I am running on quite a low end PC, a P2 266MHz, just for testing. Is this an issue confined to the dev kit or perhaps

Removing/disabling console-kit-daemon
I was trying to optimize a minimum memory VM and realized that this process was taking up over 560M of virt memory. On googling, it seems to be a known issue and doesn't seem to be needed except for graphical desktop. Although virt memory isn't actual memory usage, the daemon is still taking up almost 4MB of limited memory, which on a VM with only 384MB feels relatively significant to me.

[LLVMdev] Language Construction and IDE Kit
Hi, Is to possible to have a language construction and IDE integration kit for LLVM so that LLVM / Clang can be used for Meta Programming and defining new languages and DSLs. The definition of grammar, parsing, debugging, lint checking and IDE integration should be seamless and easy to use for a novice. Suminda -- Suminda Sirinath Salpitikorala Dharmasena, B.Sc. Setting printer properties with prnadmin.dll (W2k Resource Kit)
Hi, we are trying to set printer properties with the prnadmin.dll from the windows 2000 resource kit. The printers are shared by a samba 2.2.8a, spoolingsystem is Cups. We are using the windows drivers to process the job, the queues are set as raw-queues on cups. For some models[1] setting the properties via a dumped file works without any Problems. For some other printermodels[2] it

[LLVMdev] Front End & Language Development Kit
Hi, Is it possible to develop a LLVM front end development kit which support easy language definition and creation with IDE integration like Eclipse Xtext, JetBrains MPS. All the needed C++ integration code should be easily created through the kit. Some other similar projects from which you can get ideas are DMS Software Reengineering Toolkit, Rascal MPL, TXL, ROSE, Coccinelle, etc. where some
