pcre vs. regexp for Postfix checks
What are your opinions on pcre vs regexp for header_, body_, and
mime_checks in Postfix?
I looked at the regexp_table and prce_table man pages, and see
almost no difference other than the available flags.

You can't get there from here
Having been accomodating about it in the past, the technical
geniuses at Comcast have permanently blocked port 25, separating
me (at my home office) from my employer's e-mail server.
What can be done on the server side to keep Postfix listening on
25 _and_ accept my connections on some other port? Is there a
Postfix solution? iptables maybe?

Compromised
My wife's office server was compromised today. It appears
they ssh'ed in through account pcguest which was set up for
Samba. (I don't remember setting up that account, but maybe I
did.) At any rate, I found a bazillion "ftp_scanner" processes
running. A killall finished them off quickly, I nuked the
pcguest account, and switched ssh to a different port (which
I normally do

pronunciation?
Anyone know how centos is actually pronounced? When people I work
with ask me which linux I run, I say it like the word scent - oh - s,
with a sharp S on the end. How's everyone else say it? How's it
supposed to be said?

Port 631 closed, not hidden
I have the firewall turned on my CentOS 5 box, but GRC is
reporting that 631 is closed instead of stealthed. If the
firewall isn't configured to allow that, then why might that
be happening?

VMWare vs Parallels, and Zen
I've seen several references to running VMWare under CentOS, but
does anybody know how well Parallels runs under CentOS?
On a related note, now that Zen is as mature as it is, are
commercial VMs really much better than Zen?

Cepstral and numbers
Does anyone have any idea on how to force cepstral to convert a number
to speech ?
I have noticed that sometimes it speaks the number correctly, and at
others it doesn't.
1) 787 is pronounced 7-8-7
2) 123 is pronounced one-hundred and twenty-three.
1) is wrong for what i need, 2) is perfect.
Is there anyway of forcing numbers to be pronounced as 2) ?
I've tried looking at the ssml

SELinux and Perl script using sendmail
I have a webpage feedback form that uses a Perl script to
send e-mails with "| /usr/sbin/sendmail -t". It works
just fine, but SELinux is complaining about it:
SELinux is preventing /usr/sbin/postdrop (postfix_postdrop_t)
"getattr" to pipe:[41117] (httpd_t)
I'm a SELinux newb so I don't know what (if anything) to do
about it. Suggestions?

means comparison with seasonal time series?
Dear R list,
I have a sequence of weekly observations of number of adults and larvae
in various size classes from a butterfly population living in a
subtropical area with pronounced wet and dry seasons. Wet and dry
seasons are each defined 26 weeks long with fixed start and end dates.
The data span 103 weeks (two seasons each of wet and dry) with some
missing weeks. What I would like to do is

How many R packages?
Hi All,
I searched around to find the number of R packages currently available,
but didn't find anything, so I choose all repositories & told it to
install. The list contained about 2,856 (correcting roughly for those
installed). But the list includes repetitions such as 19 names that
begin with "bvbovine".
Selecting only CRAN and CRAN(extras) I get 1,344.
Is there an easier
