Lots of IB_EMPTY errors on G98 (GeForce 8400 GS) on SPARC
I'm running on Sun Blade 2500 with a GeForce 8400 GS PCI. After (maybe?)
fixing a few errrors with bo allocation, I'm getting a lot of IB_EMPTY
errors, ultimately resulting in a GPU lockup. I don't have any sort of
framebuffer visible.
After reading dma-pusher.txt, I see "An attempt to submit IB entry with
length zero will raise DMA_PUSHER error of type IB_EMPTY." How would

OpenSSH hanging
Hi there,
I'm having some strange behaviour from OpenSSH
It presents itself when using the "ssh -t" / pseudo terminal.
We are using this feature to update the wtmp and it is working fine on
SuSE and RH, but our AIX hosts are getting hung. The first attempt is
usually successful, but eventually, the session is hung and the CRTL-Z
does not put the process into

[PATCH] nouveau/codegen: dump tgsi floats as hex values
Hi,
yeah in the long run showing both in an ordered manner would be a nice
thing to have! That would include patching the output and the tgsi
parser (who wants to delete half the output to parse it again e.g. with
nouveau_compiler).
I can image an output similar to the one below:
IMM[5] FLT32 { 0.0000, 0.0000, 0.0000, 0.0000} ^ IMM[5] FLT32 {0x00000019, 0x0000000f, 0x00000005,

[PATCH] nouveau/codegen: dump tgsi floats as hex values
Printing without this could lead to the following output, while the values are
not exactly zero:
IMM[5] FLT32 { 0.0000, 0.0000, 0.0000, 0.0000}
IMM[6] FLT32 { 0.0000, 0.0000, 0.0000, 0.0000}
IMM[7] FLT32 { 0.0000, 0.0000, 0.0000, 0.0000}
when printing the values as hex, we can now see the differences:
IMM[5] FLT32 {0x00000019, 0x0000000f, 0x00000005,

Shaping questions
Hello Shorewall users,
I have some questions I am hoping someone can answer. I have searched
around the archives but so far I have been unable to find answers. I
am trying to configure traffic shaping on my router/firewall box
running Shorewall 3.0.5/kernel 2.4.31 and have run into some
problems/questions.
My basic set up is: 1500/256kbit ADSL (PPPoE/ppp0) -> Shorewall box

limiting bandwidth on a sequence of ports.
Hello.
I have just started using iproute2 commands, and I am having a go at
making bittorrent use the same bandwidth for upload as for download.
I am stuck I think in understanding speeds
I connect to the internet through a router modem which gets the real IP
and assigns me a private ip through dhcp. So this router can handle a
private network, and route it to the internet, pressumably with nat.

Frequent RRL false negatives when using multiple server processes on Linux
Hi,
Please advise how to use Response Rate Limiting on a server which has
multiple NSD server processes (nsd.conf server section has server-count
> 1).
We have a problem with NSD v3.2.16 repeatedly unblocking and blocking
again a single source which is flooding positive queries at a ~steady
700 qps rate. rrl-ratelimit setting is the default 200 qps. The
unblock-block happens multiple times

Wondershaper stops limiting outbound traffic
I have wondershaper to limit my upload at 400kilobits (my line is 600kbps).
I do a lot of torrent seeding and I dont want my pings killed when I''m
uploading so I set low prority source ports as follows (by the way, I have
bittornet to only use ports 6881-6910):
NOPRIOPORTSRC="6881 6882 6883 6884 6885 6886 6887 6888 6889 6890 6891 6892

Dovecot hangs randomly
I have been run into a weird problem with dovecot. We have 4
identical servers running dovecot, serving both IMAP and POP3
clients. Every few hours, clients start timing out after the PASS
command. Here is what the process tree looks like at that time:
6718 ? Ss 0:00 /usr/sbin/dovecot
6719 ? S 0:00 \_ dovecot-auth
6881 ? S 0:00 | \_ dovecot-auth

centos 5 as p2p client
Hello,
I'm running centos5. I'm wanting this machine only, none of my other
ones, to participate in p2p file sharing, bittorrent, edonkey, maybe other
networks. Does anyone have a howto or step by step guide for this? I've
installed bittorrent and mldonkey clients, but neither is working, i'm
assuming gateway firewall issue, but i've enabled the correct ports, 6881

Two Interface Setup + router problems II
Hey all, A while ago today I posted about not being able to get my two
interface setup working with a router (di 652 wireless/wired). I
recieved help from Tom and got everything in the router turned off and
set it up as a switch rather then a rouiter, this still never
corrected my problems. Use tcpdump I see there is alot of traffic, but
as soon as I dhcpcd eth1 (local) I loose all outside access

Re: CentOS 3.4 Single CD "Server" version
Hey,
Lance mentioned yum group install. This yum group
capability makes the "server" CD's more versatile than
the name implies -- you only need a broadband
connection to get any kind of CentOS install you want.
Start with a minimal install off the CD, and then use
the yum group install to conveniently get the same
install you could get off the 3 CD set (only more up
to date).

Error running various Norton Utilities
When I try to run various Norton Utilities (integrator, sysdoc, etc.) I get a message that says something about not being able to get the OS version, and the program aborts. I can post the exact message (I'm not at my linux box right now).
