Zebra, Routing ...
Before I start, I don''t want to do ECMP or simple bonding ... I have multiple Internet connections available to multiple boxes on one of my networks. Box A connects to ISPs 1, 2 and 3 Box B connects to ISPs 1 and 4 Boxes A and B are both connected to each other and the rest of the network. 1) I would like to set up some dynamic routing in such a way that any given outgoing packet from

CentOS + GNU Zebra
Hi folks, At work, we're considering the idea to replace the presente router with a stardard box with CentOS as a SO and GNU Zebra as a routing software. The line is a 4Mbps SDSL. ?What do you think about Zebra and what are your experiencies with it? Any feedback will be so appreciated. TIA.

Using zebra
Hello Anyone used Zebra routing daemon and created virtual routers before? Is it possible to run OSPF/BGP on each virtual server and get them to talk to each other? I''m new to Xen and I need to know... I will be trying this out in the coming days and I want to know about any pitfalls to avoid. -- Nonchalantly yours GobbledeGeek [Every thing but Gobbledegook.. !!]

routed vs non routed
In an effert move my Dmz from a snapqear roouter to Linux with shorewall. Question is I have network 64.42.53.200/29 which makes default gw 64.42.53.201 network 64.42.53.200 broadcast 64.42.53.207 mask 255.255.255.248 and I want to set up shorewall with eth0 64.42.53.202 eth1 local eth2 dmz where dmz will use say 64.42.53.203 for web and email server. Where I do not need or should I say use

Coexistence of Dynamic and Static routing
List members; I have been reading the digest for some time now and I would like to ask some conceptual questions. I am a telecommunications systems designer and not a software guy, but I have tried and used a number of the tools availabel in the LARTC and Iptables, and many of the other great things included in Linux. We are designing commercial products and I don''t want to ask my

Shorewall and multicast
Hi, all! Can I enable multicasting via shorewall? I have router with Gentoo Linux (one interface to ISP, one with alises - to local network). Shorewall work perfect! But now I need setup Quagga (zebra) for dynamic routing between one more router via another provider. All routers daemons (zebra, ripd, ospf) used multicasting. In my configuration already enabled allowBcast and etc.

zebra bgp and shorewall
Hi, I plan to implement a redundant Internet connection using BGP on 2 different Linux Routers. The routing daemon software I will be using is Zebra (zebra.org). I''m wondering if I should have my Linux firewall behind the 2 BGP routers, or could I keep the shorewall on both BGP routers? Has anyone had any experience with this? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Sam

CentOS 5 + Quagga + SELinux
Hello All, Does anyone happen to be running Quagga on CentOS 5 with SELinux in enforcing mode? Have you had to create SELinux policies or did it "just work" out of the box? (I'll get around to building this out on CentOS 6 as well.) I'm simply trying to write my config (for the zebra daemon) and it can't be written... Looks like this bug from Fedora 8 in 2008 [0] remains

tc + zebra/quagga
I have some problem with traffic shaping on debian testing. I actually posted a full config on the list a while ago but didn''t get any answers. The problem is that traffic doesn''t get into the user classes (~150) when I associate a class with a qdisc. I tried sfq, fifo but none works. If I dont''t associate a qdisc with a class classification occurs well.

Best setup for redundant routers.
I am setting up 2 Vyatta routers that will serve as redundant failover core routers out to the backbone of our ISP. They will be serving for routing between other branches and the ISP and bandwidth management. I am trying to differentiate between the plethora of information about having redundant, automatic failover routers and pretty much decided on VRRP for the IP address failover mechanism. I

RE: ntpd
Hi Nitin, First of all, you can verify that ntpd is responding on ingress with netcat : nc -u ingress 123 (udp connection on port 123) also try a netstat -an on ingress to be sure that the port 123 is in listen state... I recently install ntpdate, and it has worked as a client and a local ntp server immediatly. Good Luck, Yannick / Annecy in France -----Message d''origine----- De :

OSPF problems
I have a fairly simply laid out network that could easily use static routing. However, I plan to expand quickly and don''t wish to spend the better part of my life maintaining static routes. Problem with Load Balancing
Hi everybody! I''m trying to implement the load balancing for a LAN with two ISPs. I''ve installed a Suse Linux Enterpise Server 9 with iproute2 for that porpouse. The server have two NICs, one of them is for both the LAN and ISP 1. I''ve setup both NICs with YAST (if I use ip for this, then the whole thing doesn''t work!) and execute the following commands to

How to add a route to a network via 2 gateways.
Hi iproute2, I have a network to reach which is 192.168.2.0/24. It is a branch of the company. I have currently added a route to that network via one gateway ( 192.168.0.254) in following way. ip route add 192.168.2.0/24 via 192.168.0.254 Now, We got another gateway which is 192.168.0.250. Now I want to add a route to the same network which is 192.168.2.0/24 via this gateway ( 192.168.0.250)
