Trouble getting past net join ads...
I am in the process of getting samba working again with Activer Directory. Recently our IT department upgraded their windows server to 2008. I am following the approach described here: http://www.surlyjake.com/linux/samba/join-debian-lenny-to-active-directory-using-samba/ I am able to get kerberos to issue a ticket, but where I am running into a wall is with the net join ads part...

Server not found in kerberos database (with net ads join)
Hi All, After running into a few issues in trying to join my debian (squeeze) box to a windows 2008 server, I am running into this (hopefully last) problem... When I try to do te net join command, I get the following > nanoelecfs:/home/joel# net join ads -S XX.XX.XX.XX dn > 'DC=FS,DC=UML,DC=EDU' -U USERNAME > Enter EEng_LDAP's password: > [2010/02/10 15:20:10, 0]

Yikes! Polycom 501 chokes on BootRom 4.0.0?
I was progressively upgrading this phone from 3.1.2 to 3.2.3, then to 4.0.0. v3.2.3 worked fine, but when I went to 4.0.0 (Even adding the more specific 2345-11500-040.bootrom.ld), it won't run, and just keeps rebooting. Now I've got a really nice doorstop unless someone knows how to get out of this predicament. Help! 0925003705|cfg |3|00|Beginning to provision phone 0925003705|dns

Ethernet card addr <-> IP
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hi everyone - Someone I''m working with has a requirement to map ethernet card addresses to unique IP addresses, and then have a Linux IP masquerade server know of this mapping list and not allow any data to pass from any ethernet card that a) it doesn''t know about, or b) isn''t assigned the right IP. Ideally it would also log this

Slow Access Database on Samba
Dear All, We have an access database running on a Samba share (Samba version 3.0.10-1.4E) with a gigabit connection to the network. The front end of the databases are on the client machines with linked tables stored in a separate mdb file on the linux server. For some reason the database runs very slowly when it is set up in this way. I tested copying a 10 MB file onto the samba share and it

Domain trusts with W2003 and SAMBA 3.0.33 on RHEL
I'm trying to establish a two way non-transitive trust between a W2003 A/D box and our SAMBA domain. We are using smbldap so we can log in on any of the linux boxes with the same passwd. Samba is version 3.0.33 on Redhat Enterprise. It's easy to create the trust on the Windows side with AD Domains and Trusts but on the Linux side I'm not sure if I need to put the machine account

Routing problems
Hi, I have some problems with my routing configuration. My router has two connections to the internet, eth1 (2Mbit) and ppp0 (ADSL). On the eth1 connection I do a –snat and on ppp0 I do masquerading. I use iptables to mark packets / connections in the -t mangle -A PREROUTING and OUTPUT chains. The marks (1 and 2) are used to decide which route do use to route a packet. My routing configuration:
