buildbot failure in LLVM on clang-native-arm-cortex-a9
Hi,
I agree with the principle but 2 days feels a bit short to me since, accounting for time zone differences, it's closer to 1 working day. For example, an email sent at 9am PDT arrives at 5pm BST and (assuming normal working hours) might be read at 9am BST (1am PDT). Daylight savings can also make a difference since timezones that use it don't agree on when it's in effect. The owner

date validation
I''m hoping someone can help me (a Rails newbie) with this. Basically, I
need to verify that a date created with "date_select" is valid *before*
it''s sent off to the database for acceptance (as a valid date) or
rejection (as an invalid date). Given how easy the majority of validation
are in Rails, I''ve got to believe there''s a fairly simple way

problem with machine "freezing" for short periods
I have two HP dc7800 convertible minitowers that are exhibiting the
following issue: every 5-10 minutes, they will "freeze" for about 30
seconds, and then pick right back up again. During the freeze, it seems
that nothing at all happens on the system; the clock doesn't even advance
(it just picks up again with the next second, and that 30-or-so seconds
are lost).
I've tried both

multiple disk failure
Hi,
I am using FreeBSD 8.2 and went to add 4 new disks today to expand my
offsite storage. All was working fine for about 20min and then the new
drive cage started to fail. Silly me for assuming new hardware would be
fine :(
The new drive cage started to fail, it hung the server and the box
rebooted. After it rebooted, the entire pool is gone and in the state
below. I had only written a few

[OT] Bacula offsite replication
Hi everyone,
I have updated my backup server to CentOS 8.2. It runs bacula performing
backup on disks. I would like to replicate backups on another offsite
machine.
I read about the ability to configure a new storage daemon in the
offsite location and create a Migration/Copy Jobs. If I'm not wrong, it
replicates only volumes but not replicate the catalog. I will try this.
Another way to

[OT] Bacula offsite replication
Hi Leroy,
How I can confirm that during rsync transfer corruption are not encountered?
Thank you in advance.

DR Server for Windows Machines
I need to setup a CentOS box offsite to have a series of files replicated to it.
My problem is this machine won't have Samba on it but I need to replicate the
hierarchy in question in such a manner that I can restore from it and retain
file system permissions.
That's where I am stumped, anyone got any ideas?
Thanks,

question about backup regimens
I need to recommend some backup options for a web server running
CentOS 4.1. The client prefers using a tape drive as their backup
device and has access to safe offsite storage. I was thinking of
system backups weekly and differential backups nightly but don't know
what software to recommend for the differential b/u's. For full
backups I can just schedule a tar and compress using

Finally got everything up and run with the help of Manny Wise last night. So
I am setting up my digital assistant and getting down to the task I need
this box to perform the most. I need to have a custom app that I can call
that will take me pressing 2 at the menu and have it transfer the call to a

already. Anyone want

Building an On-Site and Off-Size ZFS server, replication question
Good morning.
I am in the process of planning a system which will have 2 ZFS servers, one
on site, one off site. The on site server will be used by workstations and
servers in house, and most of that will stay in house. There will, however,
be data i want backed up somewhere else, which is where the offsite server
comes in... This server will be sitting in a Data Center and will have some

vignette index
Dear helpers,
I have multiple vignette files for a package, and I would like to have the "right" order of these files when displayed online. For instance, see below:
https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/bst/index.html
The order of vignette links on CRAN is different from what I hoped for:
> vignette(package="bst")

Today's log - yum entries
Hi list,
I have the following entries, below, in today's log file (for yesterday,
10th May).
I don't run the automated yum-updated and didn't run a yum update
yesterday, and no packages were installed. Obviously the entries are old.
I was wondering if anyone could offer an explanation?
Thanks,
Ned

Vpn Trouble
I am trying shorewall as my previous post With alisias on eth1 loc and 4
pptp client vpns.
The odd thing is when I enter one of the vpns in interfaces such as vpn1 it
works.
But if I enter the vpn in the hosts file shorewall blocks the vpns.

Re: guestfish Remote Images IPv6 Support
Unfortunately I do need to use the address explicitly as opposed to
hostnames because the source of the data fed here is Ceph's monmap which
returns the addresses explicitly.
I've tried all the common ways to escape the : in the v6 address to no
avail. I definitely agree that the problem looks to be it parsing the
colons as if the port comes next and then everything after that is
