Goodness of fit tests
Dear all, Is it possible to use chisq.test(x,p) (where x = c(N1,...,Nk) are the counts in the k "bins" and p is a vector of the probabilities that a random observation will fall in the various bins) to test the goodness of fit of a certain distribution for which we had to estimate the parameters? Is there another function to do that? Also, how can I use chisq.test or other

Cramer-von Mises normality test
Hi, this is my first help request so please bear with me. I've been running some normality tests using the nortest package. For some of my datasets the Cramer-von Mises normality test generates an extremely high probability (e.g., 1.637e+31) and indicates normality when the other tests do not. Is there something I'm misunderstanding or potentially a bug in the code? Below are the

When I go on File => New it gives an error ("Could not complete your request because an error occurred") and then Wine dies with a segmentation fault. Bug in nortest cvm.test package (PR#8980)
I believe there to be a bug in the cvm.test module of the nortest package authored by Juergen Gross. I do not know how to contact the author directly. I've been running some normality tests using the nortest package. For some of my datasets the Cramer-von Mises normality test generates an extremely high probability (e.g., 1.637e+31) and indicates normality when the other tests do

Electronics Workbench 5.2 has misc. problems in Wine
Hello, I installed Electronics Workbench 5.2 (old version, but I have to import some work which I did using it) on Wine, mostly it works well, but: - When I close it, it enters an Access Violation/"Internal Error" loop. - Can't see text in some controls. For an example, check this image: http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/2707/75952076.png The controls in the 'Oscilloscope'

Emu48 under wine, misbehaves
Hello, I installed Emu48 (emulator of HP48 and HP49 calculators) on Wine, but unfortunately it misbehaves. The "screen" of the emulated calculator shows strange colors (sometimes yellow on white, sometimes a pale pink color, depends on selected "skin"). Any suggestions to fix the problem? This is wine 1.1.2 on Arch Linux. Thanks! -- Renan Birck ~ Santa Maria, RS, Brasil

normality tests
Hi all, apologies for seeking advice on a general stats question. I ve run normality tests using 8 different methods: - Lilliefors - Shapiro-Wilk - Robust Jarque Bera - Jarque Bera - Anderson-Darling - Pearson chi-square - Cramer-von Mises - Shapiro-Francia All show that the null hypothesis that the data come from a normal distro cannot be rejected. Great. However, I don't think it looks

The normality of the residuals is important in the inference procedures for the classical linear regression model, and normality is very important in correlation analysis (second moment)... RDMA inline threshold?
Dear Dan, thanks for the quick reply! I actually tried restarting all processes (and even rebooting all servers), but the error persists. I can also confirm that all birck processes are running. My volume is a distrubute-only volume (not dispersed, no sharding). I also tried mounting with use_readdirp=no, because the error seems to be connected to readdirp, but this option does not change

Normality Test on several groups
Hi, I use ks.test or lillie.test to verify a normal distribution. It's performed for a group My users use SigmaStat software and a One Way ANOVA on several groups In the result page there is a probability value to determine if Normality test is failed or passed So, how can i retrieve this probability value on several groups? Is there another function in R to verify normality on several

Question about safety in using WINE
Hey guys, I just found out about wine today, and i am extremely paranoid about getting viruses and malware and things of that nature. If i use this program strictly just to play video games is there any chance i could get infected by anything? I just wondered how vulnerable this would make my computer. Thank you
