Transparent Squid in DMZ
Hi, I want forward port 21 and 443 to my squid. A simply rule (dnat) didnt help me. My http - port (only 80) will forwarded to my squid. It runs fine. Here I have used the HowTo from Tom and the hints from http://lartc.org/. I want to do the same with port 21 as port 80. My network: Shorewall: eth0 net (192.168.108.1) eth1 dmz (192.168.109.1) eth2 loc (192.168.110.1) eth3 loc1

Dyndns
Hi, I''ve a little problem, I hope so.. First a hint, I haven''t a static IP - Adress and so I used a dyndns Provider. In DMZ runs a sftp server. It should accessible from net. My router is forwarding the traffic from port 22 to the machine in DMZ. Now, in basic installation I have rfc1918-dropping configured by net interface. My problem: If rfc1918 dropping is on I

convolution of the double exponential distribution
Is there any R function that computes the convolution of the double exponential distribution? If not, is there a good way to integrate ((q+x)^n)*exp(-2x) over x from 0 to Inf for any value of q and for any positive integer n? I need to perform the integration within a function with q and n as arguments. The function integrate() is giving me this message: "evaluation of function gave a

multiple ssh tunnels needing different rules
I have a firewall running Shorewall 1.3.13-1 from rpm on a redhat 7.3 box. The box has three nics assigned to zones loc net and dmz. We also have multiple vpn links accomplished via ssh tunnels, These links all come from dynamic IP addresses with known private subnets behind them. There are basically two types of networks these vpns connect, one with access to almost everything and one with

Shorewall and CUPS printing interference
I''m having a problem with the Shorewall firewall and CUPS printing interfering with each other. My Linux firewall machine is acting as both a CUPS server and client for all of my tests. Shorewall 2.0.13 CUPS 1.1.22-2 Linux kernel 2.6.9 CUPS was working fine to print to my Epson C84 (network connected via a Netgear PS101 print server using lpd://PS101.IP.address/raw ) until I

An "any" host source/destination
Just out of curiosity, I''m running shorewall on a machine that has 4 nic''s and 4 different VPN tunneled subnets. When I want to define a service that is available from any source to a certain destination, instead of making a matrix of all the different combinations possible, is there an easier way? Something like,: ACCEPT any loc tcp ssh Which

noob question
Hi list, thank you for Shorewall :) I''m trying to get a simple config to work but i can''t seem to work out how to gain access via ssh to the protected remote machine. But that doesn''t surprise me really as i have just spend well over an hour to find how to limit the lograte AND fill in the logburst in shorewall.conf. I have specified a logfile (not messages) in

samba 4 dns-update issue
Hi all, I've setup samba4 according to the samba4 wiki on centOS 5.4 in KVM. This went without any problems. I only had to install a higher version of bind to 9.6.x because Centos bind in repo will install version 9.3.x. I've used the Fedora12 source rpms for this to build bind 9.6.x on Centos 5.4. Then I configured bind according to the samba wiki

Firewall+DHCP question
Good Morning. Last week I posted a question about how to set up Shorewall Firewall to coexist with a DHCP server. I set up three zones and assigned two of them to the interfaces: net Zone is assigned to eth0 and loc Zone is to eth1. You said that I shouldn''t type any entries for loc2 Zone (assigned to eth1:1) since Shorewall can''t recognize an interface named eth1:1, but then

help seeing DMZ from LOC
I have a three interface network (net, loc, dmz). The internet interface (eth0) has a static IP. Windows machine in the local network (eth1) use DHCP to get IPs from the 192.168.10.0/24 netblock. The Debian machine in the DMZ (eth2) gets a fixed IP through DHCP in the 192.168.11.0/24 netblock. The DHCP server is running on the firewall machine (not ideal, I know, but that''s the way

remote site 10.x http traffic rule help!
Hi everyone - I was wondering how do I setup a rule with the following scenario: I have a VPN site-2-site connection setup. Also, on each site I have squid which redirect all local HTTP traffic on 3128. But I have problems when I try to access the other site web server which is 10.50.20.198 from my network setup which is 10.50.30.0/24. I have all other traffic flowing between the two sites

Bridge Interface without an IP Address?
We are using Shorewall 2.0.8 with SuSE 9.1 and have built a bridging firewall primarily to defend against syn flood and smurf DoS attacks. We are a small ISP using Cisco routers for a total of 5-6 subnets. Since bridges are based on use of MAC addresses, if we could use one bridging firewall system instead of 5-6 ... is this possible? practical? (Other than introducing a single point of failure
