How to use Oniguruma in ruby 1.9.2?
Hello Guys ,
Can anyone explain me how to use Oniguruma in ruby 1.9.2 , I guess in
ruby 1.9.2 its a default library so there is no need to install
externally?
I was using Oniguruma::ORegexp.new( in ruby 1.8.7 .
Thanks
Nishant

Mirror of the R manuals with a new visual style
Dear all,
I've created a new mirror of the HTML versions of the main R manuals
at <http://r-manuals.flakery.org>. This mirror does not modify the
content of the manuals at all, but simply injects a new visual style
with the aim of making the text easier to read and navigate. It will
be updated after each release of R.
The code used to generate these versions is freely available at

Issue with seek() on gzipped connections in R-devel
Dear all,
In R-devel (2011-09-23 r57050), I'm running into a serious problem
with seek()ing on connections opened with gzfile(). A warning is
generated and the file position does not seek to the requested
location. It doesn't seem to occur all the time - I tried to create a
small example file to illustrate it, but the problem didn't occur.
However, it can be seen with a file I use for

Cross-platform linking of a simple front-end
Dear all,
I have a simple front-end program which uses the APIs described in section
8 of "Writing R Extensions" to deviate from the standard R behaviour in
fairly minor ways. However, I'm having some difficulty getting it to link
reliably across different platforms.
R CMD LINK seemed like it would help, but I've had difficulty finding many
real-world examples online. I've

how can I get malformed UTF-8 characters to display properly?
Hello everyone,
I''m scraping a lot of sites for a project, and occasionally the
scraped content will have "malformed UTF-8" characters. When the
scraped content is processed (basically a database record is created),
these characters often don''t appear as they''re supposed to.
Normally, the following code works great:
str.unpack("U*").collect {|s| (s

Significant updates to medical imaging packages: TractoR and RNiftyReg
Dear all,
There have been some recent major updates to the TractoR and RNiftyReg
packages, which are available for medical image analysis applications.
If you use R for these purposes, I hope you will find the updates
useful.

Documentation of model.frame() and get_all_vars()
Hi everyone,
This is about documentation for the model.frame() page. The
get_all_vars() function (added in R 2.5.0) is a great addition, but
the behavior of its '...' argument is different from that of
model.frame() with which it is documented and this creates ambiguity.
The current docs read:
\item{\dots}{further arguments such as \code{data}, \code{na.action},
\code{subset}. Any

Hola Pedro.
El INE cambió los ficheros de microdatos no hace mucho, aquí dejo como
se haría ahora, (utilizando MicroDatosEs). Lo que cambia es la función

Here's a simple example:

MyRange <- setRefClass("MyRange", contains = "DiscreteRange")
a_range <- MyRange()

getParseData() for installed packages
I can't seem to reliably obtain parse data via getParseData() for
functions from installed packages. The parse data seems to be available
only for the *last* file in the package.
See [1] for a small example package with just two functions f and g in
two files a.R and b.R. See [2] for a documented test run on installed
package (Ubuntu 15.10, UTF-8 locale, R 3.2.3). Same behavior with

ggplot / second axis / just a notation problem
Hi,
I have a question on ggplot2 with the second axis, but I don't think one
needs to know ggplot2 package in order to answer this question.
In this example,
https://rpubs.com/MarkusLoew/226759
since the transformation of the second axis is given by y1=y2*5,
#####
p <- p + scale_y_continuous(sec.axis = sec_axis(~.*5, name = "Relative
humidity [%]"))

To the openssh community;
I have installed openssh 6.2 on my mac book pro and tried to ssh to a server and the ssh session hangs. The host
server shows that a connection was established but I cannot return a prompt to indicate that I am connected
to the server. Can someone advise?
Thanks in advance

Why not just try both and see which one makes sense?

Code editor for writing R code
Presumably there's nothing stopping you *writing* LaTeX in comments
-- do you want a code editor that will render and display the LaTeX as
you write? (Or am I misunderstanding something?)
Does anyone do classic literate programming *sensu* Knuth any more?
