i have a data frame(dat) which has many variables.and i use the following script to get the crosstable.

R Code for X-Tab with Row/Col Proportions, Expected Vals and Tests
Recently, I noted a post and replies on R-Help from Professor Marc
Feldesman regarding a cross tabulation function that generates row and
column proportions, marginal values, expected cell values and tests for
independence presumably similar in a fashion to the output of the S-Plus
crosstabs() function or the SAS Proc Freq.
Martin Maechler had posted some code in reply for folks to update and

Can someone recommend a package for SNP cluster analysis of Fluidigm microarrays?
I know that there are quite a few packages out that there for cluster
analysis. The problem that I am facing is finding a package that will not
incorporate all my samples into clusters but just the samples that fit a
threshold (that I have not set yet and may need help finding the right
level) for genotyping. It should be able to "no call" samples outside the
clusters. It also needs to

Regression versus functional/structural relationship?
Hi,
I am dealing with the following problem. There are two biochemical assays,
say A and B, available for analyzing blood samples. Half the samples have
been analyzed with A. Now, for some insurmountable logistic reasons, we
have to use B to analyze the remaining samples. However, we can do a
comparative study on a small number of samples where we can obtain
concentrations using both A and

AJAX data grid for Rails?
Has anyone used an AJAX data grid with Rails?
I am rebuilding a copy of the venture source web site as a first ruby/
rails exercise. If anyone has used a javascript data grid with
Rails, I would appreciate sample code, or notes on your experience.
The controller action would presumably communicate with the data grid
component running on the browser by extracting data from a relational

concordance correlation coefficient using R
Hi.
I have data which i would want to assess the degree of agreement
between two assays, e.g., to evaluate reproducibility or for
inter-rater reliability. I have used the Pearson product-moment
correlation coefficient. It looks good ranginging between 0.90 to
0.998. Though this looks good. I am told the Concordance correlation
coefficient will give a better picture of how reproducible the assay

.Call and data frames
Hello,
I'm trying to fetch a data frame through the C API,
and have no problem doing this when all columns
are numbers, but when there is a column of
strings I have a problem. On the C-side the
function looks like:
SEXP myfunc(SEXP df),
and it is called with a dataframe from
the R side with:
.Call("myfunc", somedataframe)
On the C side (actually C++ side) I use code
like this:

Memory issues..
Hi dear R-listers, I'm trying to fit a 3-level model using lme in R. My
sample size is about 2965 and 3 factors:
year (5 levels), ssize (4 levels), condition (2 levels).
When I issue the following command:
>
lme(var~year*ssize*condition,random=~ssize+condition|subject,data=smp,method
="ML")
I got the following error:
Error in logLik.lmeStructInt(lmeSt, lmePars) :

sourcearg function is there a better way already built into R
Hi list:
I work with a lot of laboratory analytical data and I often have
inconsistent names of files and variables within those files so I wrote
this sourcearg function to facilitate handling file and variable names
as both character and R names. The source of the function is given below
sourcearg=function(arg){
su=sprintf("%s\n",arg)
sink("TMPTMPRarg")

Segmentation Fault Asterisk 13.7.0-rc2 (libmysqlclient?)
Hi everyone,
I am getting a segmentation fault (seems to occur randomly) using Asterisk 13.7.0-rc2 with PJProject 2.4.5. It appears to be something that libmysqlclient is complaining about when doing a query in ps_endpoint_id_ips. We are using Asterisk Realtime. This also seems to occur in Asterisk 13.5.0.
Below is a backtrace that might help a little. I have looked through the change log for

RODBC: follow up
Hi Michael,
Here is the result of my first testing:
(0) Dr. Watson
Sorry, I should have given a more precise description: by default in R
exists a function with the name 'table', if you use this name as in
odbcPrimaryKeys(0, table)
a Dr. Watson occurs, because table does not give a table name.
However, it is always a good idea to prevent Dr. Watsons, even if it is
triggered by a

Vignette problem and CRAN policies
Hello, All:
The vignette with the sos package used "upquote.sty", required for R
Journal when it was published in 2009. Current CRAN policy disallows
"upquote.sty", and I've so far not found a way to pass "R CMD check"
with sos without upquote.sty.
I changed sos.Rnw per an email exchange with Prof. Ripley without
solving the problem; see below. The

Multivariate binary response analysis
Greetings ~
I need some assistance determining an appropriate approach to analyzing multivariate binary response data, and how to do it in R.
The setting: Data from an assay, wherein 6-hours-post-fertilization zebrafish embryos (n=20, say) are exposed in a vial to a chemical (replicated 3 times, say), and 5 days later observed for the presence/absence (1/0) of defects in several organ systems

I have a data file table.txt which i have attached. I am trying to pass the
columns as arguments to a function "totnorm" where i am displaying a total

Is there a bug in CrossTable (gmodels)
Library gmodels include a function CrossTable that is useful for
crosstabulation. In the help, it is indicated that one can call this
function as CrossTable(data), were data is a matrix. However, when I try
to use this option, it doesn't help. Any idea? Is there a bug?
Thanks for your help.

RODBC sqlSave / append problem (windows XP, R 2.13.2)
Dear All,
Using RODBC I have read in a (429 x 11) dataframe from Access, and would
like to append two columns of transformed data (429 x 2) to the original
table (thereby making it a 429 x 13 table). I would ideally like this to
be the same name etc as the original table in Access.
I have used the following command:
R>
