Installation of R-4.3.1 with intel 2022
Note that 'intel 2022' is a bit vague. The current version is 2023.1.0, and that has both the 'classic' (icc/icpc/ifort which it seems you used) and new (icx/ixpx/ifx) compilers -- the former are said to be going to be discontinued later this year. R did not know about ifx so did not build with the new set. The parts of the manual Tomas referred to were about the old

Multiple samba instances on same machine in v4.8 and beyond
This is a long shot as it look as though this may not be supported anymore. Since moving to CentOS 7 we have been using the instantiation feature of systemd to run multiple winbind and smb instances on a single server as part of an HA setup (pacemaker/corosync). In testing samba version 4.8 and beyond we have found that this doesn?t work anymore, or rather the client tools are unable to

Intel MKL compiling issue
Dear R-developers, I would appreciate any insights over compiling R 3.4 with Intel MKL -- I have been successful until R 3.3.3 but now it stops complaining about pcre though it worked without Intel MKL as follows, ./configure LDFLAGS=-L/genetics/data/software/lib CFLAGS=-fPIC -I/genetics/data/software/include --enable-R-shlib I have used, export MKL_NUM_THREADS=15 export

dyn.load(now = FALSE) not actually lazy?

What should I do about it? On Unix-like systems, dyn.load forwards its arguments to dlopen(). It should be possible to confirm with a debugger that R passes RTLD_NOW to dlopen() when calling dyn.load(now =

Build R with MKL and ICC
After a few days of reading and headache, I finally gave a try at building R from source with Intel MKL and ICC. Documentation and posts on this topic are rather incomplete, sometime fantasist et do not give much explanations about configure options. As I am not sure if mine is correct, I would appreciate some advices and hints. OS: Fedora 22 parallel_studio_xe_2016 Hardware : 8 Thread(s) per

centos-7.4 elfutils
Hello, I'm taking 7.4 for a spin.? I did the minimal install, and ran into trouble with groupinstall base.? The trouble seems to stem from elfutils.? One command claims elfutils-libs-0.166-2.el7.x86_64 is missing, and another one claims it's installed.? Not sure what's going on here. [root at ip-172-31-34-187 ~]# yum -y install elfutils.x86_64 Loaded plugins: fastestmirror

configure --with-pcre1 fails with latest R 4.0 on Ubuntu 14.04
Thanks Tomas. Any chance the old version of the error message could be restored? It would definitely be more helpful than the current one. It's confusing to get an error and be told to use --with-pcre1 when you're already using it. H. On 3/18/20 01:08, Tomas Kalibera wrote: > On 3/17/20 8:18 PM, Herv? nlminb with constraints failing on some platforms
I've noticed unstable behavior of nlminb on some Linux systems. The problem can be reproduced by compiling R-3.5.2 using gcc-8.2 and running the following snippet: f <- function(x) sum( log(diff(x)^2+.01) + (x[1]-1)^2 ) opt <- nlminb(rep(0, 10), f, lower=-1, upper=3) xhat <- rep(1, 10) abs( opt$objective - f(xhat) ) < 1e-4 ## Must be TRUE The example works perfectly when
