CTDB: Clustered NFS, reboot, requires me to exportfs -r(a)
Hi Samba,
I hope you are doing well. I run a cifs / nfs CTDB clustered NAS
solution, and I find that when I reboot any of the nodes in the cluster,
I must re-export the nfs mounts so they show up properly. Perhaps this
is a general linux nfs bug and I am barking up the wrong tree, but I
haven't found any problem / solution mentioning this as of yet besides
my own known workaround

NFSv4 "Missing" Data on Clients
Hello all. I converted my server from Fedora Core 3 to CentOS 4.1 and I've
been slogging unsuccessfully through an NFSv4 problem. I'm using the same
configuration for NFS that I had in place on FC3 that worked. On the server,
I have the following data structure:
/data
/data/archive
/data/pictures
/data/music
Each is a separate ext3 filesystem mounted with rw,acl. /etc/exports

Problem using rsync for backing up on to a NAS
Hi,
I have a problem that was already discused in the german archlinux forum
and couldn't be solved. Because of this I was asked to use the rsync
mailing list. So here I am ;b
I'm using the following script to backup my data to a Network Attached
Storage that has an ext3 formated hdd that is mounted via NFS
script: http://pastebin.com/f6b7115c9
This script works fine for /home but

NFS /home freezes.
My old nfs server was an old dual Xeon machine running debian.
Everything worked fine. Then I switched over to a new Penguin Computer
Altus 2600 (if Im not mistaken) with two Dual-Core AMD Opteron(tm)
Processor 2210 and 4GB of ram. CentOS4.4 is running on it.
Now here is the thing, this nfs server is exporting "/home" and all
workstations mount the /home dir via fstab. Ever since I

Exporting a samba mount]
Anyone have experience with exporting to other Linux boxes a Windows
share mounted on one Linux box?
I have successfully mounted the Windows share on the Linux server box,
but when I edit /etc/exports to include the new mount and run exportfs,
I get error messages regarding the new export. For example, if I add
this line to /etc/exports:
/mnt/windows_share somebox(rw)
I will get the

NFS mounts with puppet creates error
Hi group,
I am managing an NFS mount with puppet. And it does not work, and seriously
I really don''t see how this can work out nicely. First I make sure with a
file {} class that the directory I want to mount exists. Cause it is used
by the webserver it should belong to the wwwrun/www group on the system. No
prob.
Then I mount the NFS share on the dir. No prob.

Setting up NFS on Centos 6.6
Hello,
I'm having an unusual amount of trouble setting up Centos 6.6 as an NFS
server. I have already created my exportfs file and run "chkconfig nfs
on".
When I try to start the nfs service with "service nfs start", I get
FATAL: Module nfsd not found.

Can you provide some more details with respect to which libvirt version
you have installed. I know I've made changes in this space in more
recent versions (not the most recent). I'm no root_squash expert, but I
was the last to change things in the space so that

Strange dmesg messages
Guys,
I'm getting strange messages on my new server with dovecot-1.1rc4 + lda
+ sieve + ldap + postfix + suse10. This server is in production since
monday, and worked fine until today. The only thing I had changed was
dovecot from 1.1rc3 to 1.1rc4. I already enabled mail_debug, but I got
any erros after that.
Does anyone have any idea of what is happening?

The only thing I can come up with is:
'/var/lib/one//datastores/0/38/disk.1': Permission denied
... that don't have access to that file. Could you elaborate on that?
I think it's either:
a) you are running the domain as root or

NFS issue
Hi List,
I must be going mad or something, but got a really odd problem with NFS
mount and a DVD rom.
Here is the situation,
/dev/md7 58G 18G 37G 33% /data
which is shared out by NFS, (/etc/exportfs)
This has been working since I installed the OS, Centos 4.4
I have a DVD on that is device /dev/scd0, which I can mount anywhere I
like, no problem.
However, the problem

Guest installation problem.
Hi,
I am a newbie to Xen and so this doubt may baffle a few. Anyways, I
installed xen 3.0.3 from the tarball on Ubuntu Dapper Drake. I even
configured a guest file of the same kernel, only the xenU verison. It
worked fine and I was given a sh prompt.
My problem now is that I want to get some other kernel as guest. I did
try fc6 since that''s the other OS I have on my box. However, I got
