JGR not installed. Attempting to install from CRAN...
Hello
I am new to R, and am running a programme called RDS Analyst which uses R. When trying to open RDS i am getting the following message: JGR not installed. Attempting to install from CRAN?
I am not sure if the issue is a Java one or an R one?
I am working off a Mac using High Sierra
Any help please..?
thanks

It shouldn't really matter, although I'd choose one that is
geographically close. Occasionally there can be problems with HTTP
vs. HTTPS, which

Problem reading RDS files
Hi there,
I faced a weird problem doing a seemingly simple task in R. Specifically,
when trying for reading an RDS file from the working directory, the
following error is appeared.
Code:
records <- readRDS("tweets.rds")
Error:
Error in readRDS("tweets.rds") : error reading from connection
In addition: Warning message:

you are bering so helpful!
So, i have done what you explained, but the RDS package that runs ?using or through? R is now just closing each time i open it. I have googled and seen that i need to to the following:
Tips: The recent updates to the Apple Mac OS (Sierra and High Sierra) have reorganized the ways apps, like RDS Analyst, work. So sometimes RDS Analyst will not be

Package under R 2.1.0: package.rds
Hi everybody,
I have trouble installing my own package under R 2.1.0 (it is fine under R
2.0.1). My OS is Windows NT.
I installed my package 'mag' by using menu "Packages/Install package from
local zip files....". It's fine (html package description was updated). But
when I typed in library(mag) it gave me error:

Problem reading RDS files
Wouldn't the obvious problem be that your data file is corrupted or was never created using saveRDS in the first place? Can you show us a complete example of creating and attempting to read what was just created?

Problem reading RDS files
I've tried to re-experiment the tutorial presented at
http://www.rdatamining.com/docs/twitter-analysis-with-r and specifically
aimed to use rds files (tweet records) at http://www.rdatamining.com/data/.

"note: symbols.rds is not available"
I've encountered this note in checking packages with the latest
R-devel. Googling finds it only in other package checks; searching the
source tree finds in src/library/tools/R/sotools.R , but I'm not sure
what it's doing there.
'symbols.rds' shows up in the SVN log here:

Missing /share/dictionaries/en_stats.rds
Hi. I'm on Windows 7 64-bit with latest R devel with and Rtools

by setting environment variable '_R_CHECK_CRAN_INCOMING_USE_ASPELL_'
to 'true', I get:

loop is going to take 26 hours - needs to be quicker!
Dear R-help,
I have a loop, which is set to take about 26 hours to run at the rate it's going
- this is ridiculous and I really need your help to find a more efficient way of
loading up my array gpcc.array:
#My data is stored in a table format with all the data in one long column

how do you interpolate a gaussian grid to a standard 2.5 degree grid?
Dear R-help community,
I have looked on the R search site and archives but cannot find mention of a way
of interpolating a gaussian distribution of data to a standard 2.5 degree grid.
I have two global dataset and I need to correlate - unfortunately one is a 2.5
degree grid dim[longitude=144,latitude=72] and one is gaussian
dim[longitude=192,latitude=94].

upside down image/data
Dear R-community,
I am looking for some simple advice - I have a matrix (therefore 2 dimensional)
of global temperature.
Having read R-help I think that when I ask R to image() or levelplot() my matrix
will it actually appear upside down - I think I therefore need to use the line:
> levelplot(temperature.matrix[,ncol(output.temp):1], ........)
to get it looking like it was on the globe due

random numbers selection - simple example
Dear R-help,
Which random number generator function would you recommend for simply picking 15
random numbers from the sequence 0-42? I want to use replacement (so that the
same number could potentially be picked more than once).
I have read the R-help archives and the statistics and computing book on modern
Applied statistics with S but the advice seems to be for much form complicated

Overlaying a single contour from a new data array in levelplot
Dear R-Help community,
I am trying to overlay a single contour line over a correlation plot using
levelplot in the lattice package. These are the two arrays:
1) a correlation plot over Africa - so each grid square is a different colour
dependent on correlation - this is in an array: result_cor with dim[465,465]
2) a single contour line from a ***different data source*** - this is from data

Dear R-help community
I am trying to write an R object (data.out) to a file in order to re-access it
later and not have to re-load up the array with data every time. Here is the
form of data.out

Risk of readRDS() not detecting race conditions with parallel saveRDS()?
I hardly know anything about the format used in (non-compressed)
serialization/RDS, but hoping someone with more knowledge could give
me some feedback;
Consider two R processes running in parallel on the same unknown file
system. Both of them write and read to the same RDS file foo.rds
(without compression) at random times using saveRDS(object,
file="foo.rds", compress=FALSE) and

R CMD build then check fails on R-devel due to serialization version
This change poses difficulties for automated build systems such as
travis-ci, which is widely used in the R community. In particular
because this is a WARNING and not a NOTE this causes all R-devel
builds with vignettes to fail, as the default settings fail the build
if R CMD check issues a WARNING.
The simplest change would be for R-core to change this message to be a
NOTE rather than a WARNING,
