Building source package in Windows, error in .doLoadActions()
I'm trying to build the source package KNITRO in Windows and getting an error when the package is loaded. Maybe there is something I'm missing in order to build a package in Windows? Note that I have successfully built the package in Linux. I'm using R 3.1.0; Rcpp 0.11.1 installed from CRAN; Cygwin with g++ 4.8.3. Details about the problem are below. I can provide more details to

Modifying Sweave.sty to allow escapes with fancyvrb package in LaTeX
Dear Colleagues: In an attempt to have things like # See page \pageref{this} inside comments in R code chunks I have modified Sweave.sty as below. I have followed fancyvrb's manual with regard to the use of the commandchars argument. But when compiling with LaTeX (using attached test file) I get a LaTeX error (/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/ae/t1aett.fd) ! Missing \endcsname

strange behavior in 'inherits' check for loaded S4 object
Hi Martin, John, Thanks for the responses! I've tidied up some of the notes from this mailing list thread and posted them on the bug tracker. John, in this case, I think namespaces are relevant because for non-exported S4 classes, the class information is made available through the '.__C__<package>' symbol in the package's namespace, but not the package environment that

Rgui maintains open file handles after Sweave error
Hello Folks, When I run the document below through sweave, rgui.exe/rsession.exe leaves a file handle open to the sweave-001.pdf graphic (as verified by process explorer). Pdflatex.exe then crashes (with a Permission Denied error) because the graphic file is locked. This only seems to happen when there is an error in the sweave document. When there are no errors, no file handles are left open.

Possible setClassUnion Unloading Issue
I'm encountering a problem caused by class unions from unloaded packages that are referenced by the still-loaded subclasses. In essence, when the class union is loaded initially, it registers itself as a super class of the component classes in the S4 cache. When the package the class union lives in is unloaded, it does not undo that registration. Here is an MRE of the problems it causes:

strange behavior in 'inherits' check for loaded S4 object
(Just returning from the "wilds" of Canada, so not able to comment on the specifics, but ...) There is a basic point about generic functions that may be related to the "private" class question and my earlier remarks that Martin alluded to. R (and S4 before it) allows packages to define methods for a generic function in another package. Say, for plot() in graphics. The

Problems of exporting raster to ArcGIS
Hello: I am using R raster package to replace ArcGIS when processing multiple shp files. However, when I export R raster back to ArcGIS, it couldn't recognize R raster file correctly. For example, I used {raster} package and got a RasterLayer as followed. class : RasterLayer dimensions : 8280, 18480, 153014400 (nrow, ncol, ncell) resolution : 0.008333334, 0.008333334 (x, y)

Beginner stucked with raster + geoR package.
Hello everyone. I am trying to build up understanding in R by trying to develop just some simple scenarios. I would like to explain you what I am trying to do and what I did so far. I would like to put inside a RasterLayer (raster package) a Gaussian field (for given covariance) using grf function (geoR package) 1. First I created a Raster Layer object r <- raster() # Default values are

Passing arguments between S4 methods fails within a function:bug? example with raster package.
Dear all, This problem came up initially while debugging a function, but it seems to be a more general problem of R. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't find another explanation. Let me illustrate with the raster package. For an object "RasterLayer" (which inherits from Raster), there is a method xyValues defined with the signature

How to re-project ease( Equal Area Scalable Earth) grid with a ~25 km cylindrical projection to WGS84 0.25 degree?
I have nc files for global soil moisture, here is one file https://echange-fichiers.inra.fr/get?k=f9DDllPKdUKs5ZNQwfq from the metadata ,the projection is cylindrical and the resolution is 25 km(it is based on authalic sphere based on International 1924 ellipsoid). As I want to compare with other data, I have to make them identical. - my other data are in WGS84 with 0.25*0.25 degree resolution

Fwd: netCDF to GeoTIFF by layer in r
Hi I have a netCDF file of volumetric soil water content at four different soil layers and want to convert each soil layer in the netCDF file to a GeoTIFF layer. This code converts the netCDF file to one GeoTIFF layer, i.e. unclear which soil depth. file.nc <- "C:/Soil_Weather_data/Agro/VMC21/VMC21.nc" file.tiff <- "C:/Soil_Weather_data/Agro /VMC21/VMC21" importnetcdf

I should add one more item that may be related here -- calling 'methods:::.requirePackage' returns a different result based on whether the package namespace is already loaded or not. If the package namespace is not loaded, the package is loaded and attached, and the package environment is returned: > methods:::.requirePackage("digest") Loading required package:

rgdal error when trying to import raster
Hi, The message "there is no package called 'rgdal'" means that you don't have rgdal installed. https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/rgdal/index.html Also, you will get very good patial-centric help if you subscribed to r-sig-geo here https://stat.ethz.ch/mailman/listinfo/r-sig-geo Cheers, Ben > On Sep 6, 2017, at 2:52 PM, john polo <jpolo at mail.usf.edu>

The extent, resolution, and origin are the same, so according to my understand it should work. The objects look like so: > obs.clim class : RasterLayer dimensions : 60, 200, 12000 (nrow, ncol, ncell) resolution : 0.5, 0.5 (x, y) extent : -70,
