R CMD build error (RProtoBuf on windows)
Hello all, I am trying to port the package RProtoBuf to windows. The developers of RProtoBuf have given me some helpful pointers so far, but now I am stuck. After having made what I think are the necessary changes to the package to compile on windows, "R CMD build RProtoBuf" outputs a somewhat cryptic error ("This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual

getConnection, R_outpstream_st
Hello, I'm trying to use the limited connections api defined in Rinternals.h. I have code that looks like this (inspired from do_serializeToConn) : SEXP serialize_to_connection( SEXP xp, SEXP connection ){ Rconnection con ; struct R_outpstream_st out; R_pstream_format_t type = R_pstream_binary_format ; SEXP (*hook)(SEXP, SEXP) = NULL ; con = getConnection(Rf_asInteger(connection));

Problems with r-cran-rcurl in Trusty and Vivid. (Re: Install R on Ubuntu with libcurl support)
Hello everybody, by the way, speaking about the r-cran-rcurl package in Ubuntu, the versions in trusty and vivid are linked by error to the "NSS" flavour of libcurl3 instead of the "OpenSSL flavour", which cause at least problems when using the CRAN devtools package. A bit more details are available in the Debian bug tracking system (https://bugs.debian.org/786473). I am not

R, OSX, should creating SVGs request XQuartz
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 hi, on OS X, when you try and use something which depends on X11, and you don't have XQuartz installed, you receive an error message, it directs you to download XQuartz, and then it euthanizes your process. (my guess is that there is a skeleton X11 dylib installed in OS X by default, and it is responsible for the error message and the

On RObjectTables
I was wondering if anyone knows more about the state of RObjectTables. This largely undocumented functionality was introduced by Duncan around 2002 somewhere and enables you create an environment where the contents are dynamically queried by R through a hook function. It is mentioned in R Internals and ?attach. This functionality is quite powerful and allows you to e.g. offload a big database of R

Re: [virt-tools-list] Linux host / Windows guest sharing
Thank you. It is clear now, so it was user error and I should read more documentation :) Unfortunately drag and drop isn't working. Is there any prerequisite? [cfe-dev] proposal - pragma section directive in clang
Thanks Reid/Jonathon for your replies. Reid, An important case against module level flags is that it wont allow changing or resetting section names e.g. int a; #pragma clang section bss = "xyz" int b; In case above, users would like to see only 'b' placed in 'xyz' and not 'a' as well. Link pointed to by Jonathon seems to require same behavior.

Error building R from SVN - unable to run 'pdflatex' on 'example-1.tex'
G'day, I'm trying to build R using the code from SVN. I am able to successfully build the source from here: http://cran.r-project.org/src/base/R-2/R-2.15.2.tar.gz However, when building the code checked out from SVN (either from 2.15.2 tag, or the trunk) I get the following error: Error: running Sweave on vignette

Re: [virt-tools-list] Linux host / Windows guest sharing
Thank you. The clipboard sharing working now. Do you have any idea for the mount issue? I suppose there is a way to share a specific directory between the guest and host like I did with vbox for example What exact modules needed for this function? The error message I've got this: mount -t 9p -o trans=virtio,version=9p2000.L hostshare /tmp/hostfiles mount: special device hostshare does not

The function is returning with errno=22 (mapped from NT_STATUS_REVISION_MISMATCH), and I'm getting the following error message: smb1cli_req_writev_submit: called for dialect[SMB3_11] server[dc1.example.com] It looks like libsmbclient is, for some reason, using SMB1 but needs to be

Disabling password expiry for a AD service account for accessing LDAPS, and security best practices.
Sorry to hop on an existing conversation but this seemed like a good point to jump in with this question. Say I have a service account, with a random password that is set to never expire. What component is expected to periodically renew (or request anew) the Kerberos TGT using that password? I see lots of information about SSSD handling this, but less so with Samba. Also, I understand that in
