[OT] Overview of Homer installation on Debian Stretch
Hello,
I've discovered homer-api-postgresql and homer-api-mysql packages in
Stretch repo.
I'm not sure I understand how Homer-API relates to Homer.
My questions are:
1. What is the simplest available installation option to install Homer on a
dedicated box, this dedicated box gathering data from one or several
Asterisk systems on the same LAN ?
2. Is it possible to centralize data on a

Hello Everyone,
I am relatively new to linux and Samba and I am having some difficulties
setting Samba up as a Primary Domain Controller.
Ihave read the Pdf document called "Using Samba as a PDC" by
developrWorks and I have read most of the Howto documents relating to Samba.
When I try to connect to my samba server with Win98se I get the message

postfix problem since update: mail loops back to myself
Hello
I already asked in the IRC, but apart from recommendations reading the
mailing lists, nobody could help me. I read all postfix-update related
articles but non of them seemed to match or resolve my problem:
Everything works fine, apart from one host, which we are doing MX
backups for (backupdomain.com):

Characters and Numeric Values in One Matrix
Dear R-Users,
I want to ask a question for a colleague of mine. He wants to put a
character vector and a numeric vector into one matrix and still have the old
character and numeric type for the respective columns.
Unfortunately, I am just starting using R and I could not help him.
Is there an easy and straightforward way to do this in R?
Maybe a little example facilitates understanding our

"Device or Resource Busy" when deleting folders
Hi all,
I have set up an LTSP environment (www.ltsp.org) for a small group of users
who have migrated from WinXP. As part of the setup, and during the
transition, I have created a number of folders in each user's home
directory which are mapped via SMBMOUNT to the NT domain controller's home
directories, and various shared data folders.
When each user logs into X, a script is run

R hang/bug with circular references and promises
The following code snippet causes R to hang. This example might be a
bit contrived as I was experimenting and trying to understand
promises, but uses only base R.
It looks like it is looking for "not_a_variable" recursively but since
it doesn't exist it goes on indefinitely.
x0 <- new.env()
x1 <- new.env(parent = x0)
parent.env(x0) <- x1

Dear Luke,
I've got a somewhat niche use case: as a way of protecting myself
against rogue *.rds files and vulnerabilities in the C code, I've been

Looks to me your server is hacked through the webserver of website.
Stop apache, flush the postfix queue, are there new mails entering you postfix queue?
If not, hunt down the leak, if it does, its not apache2 ;-/

Inspecting promises
Is there some way of displaying the expression and evaluation environment
associated with a promise? I have found the following:

What package/code could I use to create a 3-d surface graph of the predicted

maxtrix to permutation vector
Hi,
Is there a way to convert a matrix into a vector representing all
permutations of values and column/row headings with native R functions?
I did this with 2 nested for loops and it took about 25 minutes to run
on a ~700x700 matrix. I'm assuming there must be a smarter way to do
this with R's vector commands, but being new to R, I'm having trouble
making it work.
Thanks,

Object.size() should not visit every element for alt-rep strings, or there should be an altstring_objectsize_method
Below is a toy alt-rep string example, that generates N random strings:
https://gist.github.com/traversc/a48a504eb062554f2d6ff8043ca16f9c
example:
`x <- altrandomStrings(1e8)`
`head(x)`
[1] "2PN0bdwPY7CA8M06zVKEkhHgZVgtV1" "5PN2qmWqBlQ9wQj99nsQzldVI5ZuGX" ...
`object.size(1e8)`
Object.size will call the `set_altstring_Elt_method` for every single
element, materializing
