vertically stacked area plot?
Dear all, I would like to create a vertically stacked area chart in R. The data are presented in the attached text file. I would like to see the trend in values for the different groups with sediment depth (that's why I would like to create a vertically stacked chart; normally sed_depth should be = x, but I want it plotted on the y-axis). In the packages available to create stacked area

Horizontally maximized window on last viewport
Hi, I posted this on the forum as well, but there were no responses to it. I now posting it here just in case anybody cares. Anyway, Compiz is a very nice program. Thanks for all the effort you put into making it. I am using the latest git version of compiz and it really works great for being an "unstable" version. Anyway, I noticed the following strange behavior and was wondering

stacked plots
Dear helpeRs, Is there a better method of producing stacked charts than par(mfrow(3,1)), plot(x), plot(y), plot(z)? What I would like to do is produce a chart of several panes stacked vertically with no space between them so they appeared to be a single figure. I've attached a small example, though it is not clear that it will make it, as the posting guide doesn't say which sort of images

Custom graphing : Which package (Base, Grid or Lattice package)
Hi All, Over the years, I have written a number of custom time series graphing modules (in ANSI C). I want to make these graphs available in R. After considerable thought (as well as feedback fom this NG - thanks go to Don MacQueen and Paul Murrell), I have decided to re-write (atleast some of the routines in R). Basically, this is what my R function needs to do: 1. create a parent

Lattice stacked barplot vertical bars
Dear all, I have made a barplot using lattice in which the bars are stacked horizontally. I would like to stack them vertically, but if I use the parameter 'horizontal = FALSE' I get the error: 'Error in FUN(X[[i]], ...) : invalid 'type' (character) of argument'. The problem I face is that, in drawing the bars vertically, the y variable becomes numeric rather than

R Stacked Histogram
I've seen this asked, but never fully answered.  Is it possible to plot stacked histograms in R? I have four data sets that I would like to show combined vertically in histogram format.  Is this possible?  Thank you for any feedback you can provide. P.S. I know I can show the four sets side by side, but I want to combine them, but still uniquely identify each.   Thanks again.

order in stacked barplot

slow tint when tinting the whole screen
Hi, I'm running ubuntu edgy with compiz, switched from gentoo to ubuntu for faster updates (emerge is way slow with source builds..). So far, I like it. but that is not the issue I'm addressing now. I've noted that with both these machines, when I'm doing something that tints the whole screen to gray (like trying to logout, or using some software that prompts for sudo

axis placement with stacked barplots and the asp=1 parameter
Hi, I'm currently using barplot to generate vertically stacked bar charts. I'd like to be able to use the "asp=1" parameter with barplot(), but doing this causes the y axis to be placed on the far left as shown in the attachment demo.pdf. I could get around this by using the negative values for the line parameter of the axis() function. I'd rather not do this and imagine
