delete all columns with all values equal to zero
Hello all:
I'm sure this is quite simple, but I tried several options and I still can't
get I right.
I've got a data.frame and I want to delete all columns of which the sum is
zero.
Any ideas? Thanks,
Frederico Mestre

adding points to a point pattern
Hello all:
Is there any way to add points to a point pattern, while keeping a given
minimum distance amongst this new points and the pre-existing points?
Thanks,

cluster of points
Hello:
What I want to do is quite simple, but I can't find a way.
I have a data frame with several points (x and y coords). I want to add
another column with cluster membership. For example aggregate all the points
that stand within a distance of 40 from each other.
I've tried using "nncluster" from the package nnclust, but the results are
not correct, for some

script development for Unconditional Density and Probability estimation
Hello,
I'd like to automate this script a bit more and cycle several
parameters(both the species and the metric). For example where AnnualDepth
occurs, I need to process about 12 metrics so instead of writing this
entire script 12 times once for each metric I'd like to be able to
automatically get another metric.
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Logit Estimation with Panel Data
Hi all!
Do you know if there is any R function/package that can be used to
estimate "logit" models with panel data and forecasting?
Thanks,
Moysés.

POSIXct bug for conversion of specific combinations of date and time
Hello everyone,
I'm having a big trouble with which seems to be a bug in as.POSIXct()
date-time conversion. I have massive GPS datasets in which each location
has it's own date and time attribute. As I convert them to POSIXct format,
1300 cases (of about half a million locations) simply return NA values.
I picked up a small sample of failed cases and normal cases to demonstrate

random sampling but with caveats!
Hi,
I wonder if someone can help me. I have built a gam model to predict the presence of cold water corals and am now trying to evaluate my model by splitting my dataset into training/test datasets.
In an ideal world I would use the sample() function to randomly select rows of data for me so for example with 936 rows of data in my HH dataset I might say
ss <- sample(nrow(HH), size =

Compile C files
Hello:
Sorry, this might look like a beginner question, but I'm just starting to
work on the C and R interface.
I'm trying to compile a C file (with a function) to load it to an R function
but, in the command line I keep getting a lot of errors, like:

apply model predictions over larger area with predict()
Dear all,
I have built glm models based on presences/absences and a number of
predictor maps and would like to compute habitat suitability based on
the modelled coefficients.
I thought this is pretty straight forward and wanted to use predict()
and supply the new data in a data frame, with one column for each
predictor.
However, I do get an error msg warning me that the number of rows for

how can I convert a result (text) in table format in R?
Hi R user,
Could you please give me some hints on how I can convert text in table format in R?
I was doing model assessment using dismo package
for example:
bg <- randomPoints(current, 500)
pvtest <- data.frame(extract(current, occtest))
avtest <- data.frame(extract(current, bg))
e2 = evaluate(model, p=pvtest, a=avtest)

GAM weights
Dear all,
we are trying to model some data from rare plants so we always have less than 50
1x1 km presences, and the total area is about 550.000 square km. So we have a
real problem, when we perform a GAM, if we consider only the same amount of
absences than presences.
We have thought to use a greater number of absences but in this case we shoud
downweight them.
Does anybody know how to use the

openSTARS version 1.2.2 on CRAN
Dear R community
There is a new version of the openSTARS package (preparing GIS data for
stream analysis) available on CRAN.
Major updates are:
- catch errors arising in GRASS 7.8 due to changes in v.to.db
- update setup_grass_environment; there is no need any more to initGRASS
before
Please also find a detailed description of the package including example
code here:

multivariate analysis
Hi
I have 1800 response variables to regress on two factors (latitude and age), what is the script to run all response variables at once instead of writing 1800 models?
Thanks

Downweighting of cases in GLM
Dear all,
I want to model presence/absence data of tree occurrence using a number of
predictor variables.
Absences of some sample points are probably wrongly specified (they should
be presences) due to land use which can not be incorporated as a predictor
because of some sort of arbitrariness. Some trees were logged while others
were not but to both cases land use as a category would apply.
