Intel MKL compiling issue
Dear R-developers, I would appreciate any insights over compiling R 3.4 with Intel MKL -- I have been successful until R 3.3.3 but now it stops complaining about pcre though it worked without Intel MKL as follows, ./configure LDFLAGS=-L/genetics/data/software/lib CFLAGS=-fPIC -I/genetics/data/software/include --enable-R-shlib I have used, export MKL_NUM_THREADS=15 export

Intel MKL compiling issue

R 4.0.1-4.0.2 built with Intel Composer 19.0-19.1.1, error in "make check" on CentOS 7.7
Hi there, I initially asked about this on r-help and was told this might be a better venue. I?m not really convinced from reading the posting guide, but I?ll give it a shot. It was also suggested that the R-Project doesn?t really care about building with ?non-standard? compilers, but I can?t find any evidence of that on the website (indeed, there?s some mention of successful past builds, and the

linux multi-threaded compilation is running only on one processor
Hello, I compiled R-2.15.2 with linux intel compilers (see below). when I execute some R code on a // 4 proc x 4 cores // server (export MKL_NUM_THREADS = 16) very often I have the situations where only one processor (4 cores) is active instead of 4 (16 cores) ! do you know this fact depends on what ? thank you ! P.S. many functions of R are single-threaded, is there a simple way to make them

Installation of R-4.3.1 with intel 2022
Note that 'intel 2022' is a bit vague. The current version is 2023.1.0, and that has both the 'classic' (icc/icpc/ifort which it seems you used) and new (icx/ixpx/ifx) compilers -- the former are said to be going to be discontinued later this year. R did not know about ifx so did not build with the new set. The parts of the manual Tomas referred to were about the old

How to used MKL (not revolution-mkl) with Debian packages
Hi folks, if you want to use MKL (the fast BLAS I have tested on my Thinkpad T410) with the R 2.14.0 built as Debian/Ubuntu packages available on CRAN mirror, the following tricks may works for without some known side-effects (likes openmp breaking issues), you may try to build your own libblas.so.3gf.0 with following command: $ gfortran -L/opt/intel/lib/intel64 -liomp5

Build rpm package for R-MKL
I want to create a clean .rpm package for R built with MKL and ICC. I follow Fedora instrcutions[0] to create the package. As a base, I use the R-3.2.2.src.rpm. I am left with this error: ------------------------------------------ installing R info pages ... updating '/usr/share/info/dir' ... make[1]: Leaving directory '/home/poisonivy/rpmbuild/BUILD/R-3.2.2/doc/manual' + mv

Out of date instructions to build R using MKL
Hi! I've been playing with MKL for a few days and I noticed the instructions in the R Installation Administration manual [1] no longer apply. It seems that since version 10.0 (the one used by the manual), libmkl_lapack.so has been renamed/split (although the official explanations seem to imply this was already the case in 10.0 [2]). As a consequence, the instructions for dynamic linking no

Optimize R: some confusion with Lapack and OpenBlas/openBlas openmp packages.
I run Fedora 22 R package. It is build with --with-lapack \ --with-blas \ --enable-R-shlib \. As the machine will act as a server with lots of R data computing, I try to optimize my R package. At first, I installed parallel_studio_xe_2016 with a free one year licence. Then, I build a package for R with Intel MKL and compiler. This took me lots of time as it was my first .rmp build. I finally

MKL Acceleration encouraging; need adjust package builds?
Dear R-devel: The Cluster administrators at KU got enthusiastic about testing R-3.2.2 with Intel MKL when I asked for some BLAS integration. Below I forward a performance report, which is encouraging, and thought you would like to know the numbers. Appears to my untrained eye there are some extraordinary speedups on Cholesky decomposition, determinants, and matrix inversion. They had
