Sampling a dataframe based on the length of a subset of observations within
Thank you in advance for your consideration. I have a dataframe of 2000+ observations with repeated measures across approximately 300 unique individuals An event either does or does not happen (1,0) and there is a suit of independent variables associated with the event. A simplified representation follows:

Allow self password change using LDAP(s) with Samba4
Hi all I am trying to create a webapp to allow users to change their own passwords in Samba4 (perhaps, also in AD), using LDAP(s). But when I try to modify the user password using this code: dn: ........ changetype: modify replace: unicodePwd unicodePwd: "Temporal2" I get this error: 0x32 (Insufficient access; error in module acl: insufficient access rights during LDB_MODIFY (50))

userPrincipalName question
Hi all, We're still experimenting with the samba3 -> samba4 upgrade. Lot's of nice progression. :-) ANyway: my question is how to deal with the userPrincipalName AD field. The classicupgrade does not fill this field. Reading up on it, tells me that it appears to be required, and should be something like username at samba4.domain Is this correct? How do you generally deal with

Changing active directory user password via LDAP
Hello, lists. I'm struggling to find out, how one can change password of an active directory (based on samba4) user via LDAP. The problem is that if I try to use userPassword parameter: dn: CN=John Smith,cn=Users,DC=domain,DC=com changetype: modify replace: userPassword userPassword: newPassword ldapmodify -v -c -a -f filename.ldif -H ldaps://server.domain.com -D\ administrator at

4.2.1 Indexing attributes
Hi all, System is Centos 7 and Samba is 4.2.1 sernet version. The database contains 120k users and 150k computers. It's size is 3.3GB on DC01 where the imports were performed and 2.8GB on the second DC. I was trying to index uid attribute and I have a strange behaviour. According to https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms679765%28v=vs.85%29.aspx it is the "searchFlags"

Redirecting the computer container doesn't work in Samba 4.8.5
Hello, Changing "CN=Computers" to another OU doesn't seem to work correctly in Samba 4.8.5. Running redircmp or changing the wellKnownObject AA312825768811D1ADED00C04FD8D5CD to another OU worked in Samba 4.4 but now the Windows clients don't seem to respect that entry. They instead try to create their computer object under "CN=Computers" which they no longer have

Scripting the next UID/GID number to use
Hello,     I'm developing a script to create a user and pass along all the necessary unix attributes required. I'm successful except when I go to increment msSFU30MaxUidNumber or msSFU30MaxGidNumber. I'm not sure how to use ldbedit to script this process. Any guidance would be great. Thanks. - James

LDAP BDC- Classic Domain
Hi Guys, We're trying to add a BDC in Samb4 classic domain setup. The Samba 3 How -To and Samb3 by Example covers this but uses the old slapd.conf option, we are using the slapd.d config. I couldn't find a similar document for Samba4 Can you please advise that the following steps will work? LDAP in the existing PDC is working using the smbldap tools - Setup the LDAP in BDC

regpatch writing to local registry hive with -F not working (registery-utils 4.0.0~alpha15~git20110124.dfsg1-2ubuntu1)
Hi, I was hoping I could modify a locally mounted registry hive using regpatch and a .reg file but the -F argument seems to have no function. (Strace shows it ignores it and just operates on /var/lib/samba/private/hklm.ldb) Below is output with debug on. rfm6 at ubuntuSSDx64:cp /mnt/xp/WINDOWS/system32/config/software /tmp/software rfm6 at ubuntuSSDx64:/tmp/config$ sudo regpatch -d=10 -F

I have tried the clara function, using silhouette to give me the neighbouring cluster mediod of each observation, then merging an observation from a cluster with less than 'x' obs. into its' neighbour,
