Vorbis and MP3 file verification
Does anyone know of programs one can use to verify the integrity of OGG
Vorbis and MP3 files? I've found that Ices 0.3 has a penchant for: 1)
skipping files it deems improperly encoded, or 2) passing squelchy
aural gibberish on to Icecast and then promptly crashing.
The only method I've found is trial and error and Google has been of
little help.
Thanks!

anaconda pgp rpm verification
Does anaconda verifies gpg signatures to ensure the integrity of the packages?
Are the keys already imported or how does anaconda do this job?
Any suggestions to improve the integrity while kickstarting a system?
Do you use repo_gpgcheck?

MAC address verification limitation
hi there. There are approx. 400-500 users in our
network and we plan to insert all their MAC addresses
into maclist and bind them together with IP address.
My question is whether shorewall is able to process
that much of MAC addresses without slowing the the
network speed performance? thanks for your time.

CRAN 'R Sources' page: Provide link to https://svn.r-project.org/R/
Not sure who is the webadmin for
https://cran.r-project.org/sources.html, so posting it here:
I just noticed it's not straightforward to find the Subversion URL for
the R source code. A natural search would be to go to
https://cran.r-project.org/, then click 'Source code' to get to
https://cran.r-project.org/sources.html. That page does mention
"Subversion tree", but it

[Flac-users] Fingerprint Verification Problem
Hi,
Amazing work you folks have been doing!
I don't know if this is the proper place to talk about this, but this looks
like the best place to start!
I've been messing with the latest version of FLAC and as an end-user I have
this problem. The verification process currently does not use the
fingerprint file during verification. So, only the integrity of the FLAC
file is checked.

Standards for delivery of GPL software in CRAN packages
I wondered if there were standard practices in CRAN for delivery of R source implementing functions in R packages. I has encountered a couple of packages where the gzipped version of source contains very little, primarily the Help files describing the functions in the package. In some cases I can find the source as the value of the function name.
Given that these packages are released as GPL,

WARNING: . . . .failed verification -- update discarded (will try again).
A nightly scripted rsync backup job is giving me this error
WARNING: vm/escDebLenny14G-flat.vmdk failed verification -- update discarded
(will try again).
I've searched the web and I think probably the problem is the source file
changed during the copy.
However, I haven't seen any explanations for the "will try again" part.
Does it try again immediately?
If so, does a

RE: how to use Effect.BlindUp for resizing a div
var height = someElementReference.offsetHeight;
and to set it:
someElementReference.style.height = "100";
It is worth saying that offsetHeight and offsetWidth are non-standard compliance. They will give you the total rendering height and this will cause problems in IE since they use a different box model than FireFox. So you will have to do some height juggling in IE if you are using

suggestions for global APPEND consistency
Hello Syslinux Team,
I have some suggestions / requests regarding global APPEND commands.
These would make the behavior more consistent and more useful for
practical cases.
1_ Add some functionality equivalent to "APPEND -" to the command
prompt.
2_ Activate the functionality of ONERROR from [vesa]menu.c32 too.
Currently, ONERROR only works from the command prompt.
3_ Add a new

Syncing open files
Just a few quick questions..
Does rsync copy open files?
If so, does file integrity remain intact?
I’m looking to backup IIS log files and maybe Oracle and SQL Server DB files. If rsync isn’t appropriate, what would you recommend?
Thanks for your time,

BackgroundRB time is not consistent with rails.
I added the following in my rails environment:
ENV[''TZ''] = ''UTC''
Background rb does not have the same time as my rails app. In fact it
is a few hours behind. Any idea why this is?
Thank You,
Ben Johnson

consistent crash with data=journal
I've been running into a kernel panic pretty consistently when using
data=journal. This occurs during heavy IO, and is highly reproducible
(only takes about 5 minutes of IO to cause it). The applications being
used are MySQL, Postfix, and a mail filtering application which operates
on postfix queue files using mmaped IO.
Shortly before the crash, the following messages are logged:

How to determine FS is in consistent state.
hi all...
I intend to write a snapshot module for Ext2/3 file-systems.
For that i need to make sure that FS is in consistent state before taking
snapshot.
For ex. in case of UFS, the superblock has a fs_clean flag which is set to
be FSSTABLE to tell that its in consistent state. (otherwise its set to
FSACTIVE)
I m not able to find any such information for Ext2/Ext3.
Pls, let me know if you

When is the periodogram is consistent with white noise?
Hello everyone,
This is my first time posting to the list, thanks in advance.
I am calculating the smoothed periodogram for the residuals of an AR model
that I fit to EEG data. The autocorrelation plot of the residuals shows the
series is now approximately white (i.e. ACF = 1 at lag 0, and close to 0 for
all other lags). I would like to show that the spectrum of the series is

Consistent crashes when syncing large file, possible bug?
All,
I'm experiencing a problem where rsync crashes consistently when syncing a
large file (~760MB). I am rsyncing from my windows box to my linux server.
Both ends are running the latest stable version 2.6.9 protocol version 29.
The Linux server is a 64-bit version and the windows client supports
64-bit. I've ruled out network by using different switches and also
