FW: test of spatial dependence?? - ask a geographer (was ask an ecologist)?
No, you do not necessarily need the XY coordinates. You can also use polygon (field, in your case) adjacency information. See Rogerson, Peter A. 2001. _Statistical methods for geography_. Thousand Oaks: Sage. You might also look at GeoDA, a free and soon-to-be open source spatial analysis package. For your application, it might be easier to use than R. Spatiotemporal correlation function
Hi, I'm trying to compute  the spatiotemporal correlation matrix by using Delta Kronecker products of spatial and temporal correlation matrix  in R, but didn't find any delta Kronecker's operator in R. The operators in matrix such as multiplication, addition, eigen values/vector and etc is easily to find and used. Could someone help me, please? Cheers. Firdaus

[LLVMdev] Control Data Flow Graph (CDFG)
Hi John, My project is somewhat inbetween, but closer to the latter. If you are doing something related to synthesis, have you checked xPilot from UCLA? Search "llvm" in this paper <http://www.icims.csl.uiuc.edu/~dchen/xpilot-TechCon2005.pdf> Anyway, thanks for the information! :-) Wenhao On Tue, Mar 3, 2009 at 6:30 AM, <llvmdev-request at cs.uiuc.edu> wrote: > >

Installing a Package in Windows 2000
I'm using R 1.4.1 under Windows 2000 and am experiencing difficulty installing a package. I've included an example output using Rcmd build, but the same problem occurs with Rcmd check and Rcmd INSTALL. The error (make[1]: /bin/sh.exe: Command not found) is not a new one - it's referenced in readme.packages among other locations. I've placed a copy of sh.exe in C:\bin, but it

Modifying the design matrix X in GAMS to suit data assimilation
I have a data assimilation problem that might be amenable to the use of GAMS, but I am not sure how feasible it is to implement. I was told the R mailing list was a great resource. My observations are spatiotemporal salinity in the San Francisco Bay at a number of instruments over a few days. The thing that I want to fit is the initial condition for a salt transport model at the beginning of this

packages for ecologists
Hello R-user, sorry for this very off-topic question. But I shall present R to my dept. (pro's and con's and what it can do). The pro's and con's are easy but not what R can do (additional to the "normal" statistics). I looked through the packages, but the enormous amount of packages makes it very difficult for me to decide which one is worth mentioning. I used
