R 4.0 for ARM processors
Thank you very much, Dirk. That nudge solved the problem, of course. I am embarrassed. I was so fixated on Ubuntu repositories that I neglected to check the Debian 'testing' world! Regarding the RPi: The RPi 4 uses the 'arm64' architecture, the full 64-bit one. I stopped using dedicated distros, such as Raspian, when Ubuntu went all-in on RPi support, which happened in their

R 4.0 for ARM processors
Hmmmm. Perhaps I'm using the wrong terminology. My logic is: (1) I am running Ubuntu focal on the cluster. (2) Ubuntu focal is built on Debian bullseye but (3) Debian bullseye is not yet the stable release; it is the 'testing' release; hence (4) I will pull the r-base-core package from the 'testing' version of Debian. And, in fact, I found r-base-core for 4.0.2 in the bullseye

R 4.0 for ARM processors
2 years ago at one Meetup in Paris, Marc Girondot, professor at University Paris-Saclay, presented his cluster built with 12 Odroid (equivalent to Rapsberry Pi). The stack was almost the same size than your picture as there was no fan and a narrower distance between each PCB card. There were many more cables. For a total cost of less than 1000 ? and an electrical consumption reduced by a

How do I add a book title to the R bibliography?
R community: I would like to add a new title to the bibliography on the R website (http://www.r-project.org/doc/bib/R-books.html), but I cannot find instructions for doing that. Can anyone tell me, whom should I contact in order to add a new book? (I added the title to the wiki's list of books, but the bibliography and the list don't seem to be connected.) Thank you! Bryan Smith: Thanks for the IPCop recommendation
A few weeks back I had tried to install CentOS on my old AMD 5x6x (equiv to P75 performance) with plans to use it as my firewall and router. Because there were some problems relating to RPM compile architecture (apparently), I posted and Bryan suggested IPCop, even at peril to his life on these lists ;-) according to him. ;-) ;-) Just wanted to tell him thanks, it's worked out well. Had

Question about voip.ms service.
Hey; I figured I would ask here as I seem to get better results. I am using the voip.ms <http://voip.ms/> VoIP service. I have no problem configuring my Asterisk server 1.8x to dial out with my Softphone. HOWEVER, for some reason, I cannot get inbound. All that I hear is a busy signal. I know this is not much for you folks to go on, but what would be a good place to start

Samba Groups questions
Hi, When Samba is running as a PDC and a workstation is joined to the Domain, should the user logged into the workstation be able to see all the groups they are a member of using `ifmember /list`? Is the below output as expected? I'm I correct thinking that as all my groups originate in the Unix world, I don't need winbind to allow the Workstations to see them? For what

Header names when importing csv/excel data sets
Dear R users, Suppose the csv file contains header names such as *"Nike, dunk"*, *"Converse, All stars"* etc When imported to R (with header = T option), the column names are given by: *"Nike..dunk"* *"Converse..All.stars"* I have tried the following command to convert these column names to the original names as in the input source.

Counterstrike 1.6 lag and full screen issues
Hey all, just upgraded to wine 1.2rc7 and am noticing an issue while playing cs1.6. I'll be playing in full screen mode when all of a sudden my regular xcursor will "pop-up" over my crosshair and intense lag starts up (FPS < ~5). It's almost as if something is competing with counterstrike for video output. Anyways, I've found that if I alt tab, then alt tab back, it fixes

Replication issues / local DRS authentication failure
Hello, I've having recurring issues with the second DC in my Samba AD domain. I've demoted/removed the second DC a number of times and re-provisioned it. It'll work for a bit and then replication breaks. Since replication is broken I've been doing the following to remove it: DC-02 systemctl stop samba systemctl disable samba DC-01 samba-tool domain demote
