How to install libisl.so.19 on chromebook?
I don't know about the configuration. I installed R using the standard
protocol for Chromebook

the rest, it was done by the system itself...

In that case.
apt-get update
apt-get remove samba winbind --autoremove
apt-get dist-upgrade --autoremove
apt-get install samba winbind libnss-winbind libpam-winbind tdb-tools
apt-get dist-upgrade --autoremove --purge
As long as you dont use --purge, everything of samba will stay on the system and you able to install the buster version.

Slightly OT: Samsung Chromebook
I'm thinking of buying a Samsung Chromebook,
largely for use while travelling.
But I'd like to use it at home linked to my CentOS-6.4 server,
rather than to the cloud.
I'm wondering if this is practicable?
I use LaTeX quite a lot,
and I don't know if I could (a) download LaTeX to the Chromebook,
(b) run LaTeX on the cloud,
or (c) run LaTeX on my server from the Chromebook.

installation problem for R 4.0 on Debian buster
Hi all,
I just spun up a fresh Debian Buster instance, then I added:
deb http://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/debian buster-cran40/
to /etc/apt/sources.list. I also ran the apt-key command as described here:
https://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/debian/#secure-apt
So far so good, now when I do the following, I get no joy:
$ sudo apt-get install r-base
Reading package lists... Done

Chromebook AD integration fails on joining the domain
Hi,
I am testing Google's recent ability to integrate Chromebooks into AD and
it's failing when I try to join the device to the domain. When I run
wireshark during the test I notice 2 TGS-REQs from the device that are
answered with KRB5KDC_ERR_ETYPE_NOSUPP. The Chromebook is only passing
AES256-cts-hmac-sha1-96 and AES128-cts-hmac-sha1-96 as enc types. I was
getting the same result from

Chromebook AD integration fails on joining the domain
I ran both scripts last night and was able to get the Chromebook to join
the domain this morning. Thanks, Achim!
For posterity's sake, I should mention that I changed the user's password
when I enabled AES on their Account tab, in ADUC.
Thanks,
Mike

regression: relocatable kernels on a chromebook
A Toshiba CB35 Chromebook running Google's stock SeaBIOS reboots after
selecting a relocatable kernel from extlinux 6.03.
This is a regression caused by commit 8f470e7b
movebits: Add syslinux_memmap_find()
which factors syslinux_memmap_find() out of bios_boot_linux(). Prior to
the refactoring, prot_mode_size was passed as the length in the first call
to syslinux_memmap_type(). After

CRAN R 4.0.0 for Ubuntu repos missing r-recommend dependency
Hi Dirk,
Thanks for the suggested workarounds. This was just a VM I had spun up so I
could test R4.0.0. I'm happy to wait for Michael to fix it when he has time.

CRAN R 4.0.0 for Ubuntu repos missing r-recommend dependency
Hi Dirk,
Could there be a typo on
https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu/README.html? The installation
entries mention cran35 for R 4.0. Should that be cran40?

Thierry

Xenial repository for R 4.0.0
Over a week ago (on r-help, my bad!) I raised a question of why the
ubuntu install instructions
https://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu/README.html
instruct users with a xenial-based system to use
deb https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu xenial-cran40/
Looking at https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu/
there is no xenial-cran40 directory. However,
