Detect dhclient leases file in centos
Hello,
I''m using shorewall-4.5.16 with centos5. The dhclient stores the lease information on
the /var/lib/dhclient/dhclient-<DEVICE>.leases file.
The /var/lib/shorewall/firewall script has the function detect_dynamic_gateway that
detects the gateway based on the leases file. The code in the function is:
detect_dynamic_gateway() { # $1 = interface

Problems With NAT/Multi IPs Settings... Shorewall 2.2
So I am trying to get a firewall up at work using Shorewall 2.2 / Mandrake
RC 1, where we have multi-ips assigned to a single machine....
Now at one point I had Shorewall and Mandrake configured and it was
working... this was our setup essentially (I''ll use 192.0.0.x as out
external IP addresses)
In ifconfig:
eth0 192.0.0.202 nmask 255.255.255.248
eth0:1 192.0.0.203 nmask

I did some looking on the mailing list archives and can''t seem to find
exactly what I need, I''m also having troubles figuring this out on my
own, so if anyone has any advice, tips, whatever, that would be great.
I''ve got a machine with 3 network cards in it, one for a DMZ (with 3
machines on a switch each with a real IP address), one for the local

Problem : 5 Public IP Address
Hi,
I am having problem in getting my fw to connect to the
net, I had set allow fw net in the policy.
I suspect maybe shorewall having problem because I
have 5 public IP alias to my fw, which is eth0,
eth0:1-eth0:4. Because before I add more ip to this
interface my fw able to connect to the net.
How can I set one IP to be bind to this fw, or I had
to change the rules from fw to fw:w.x.y.z?

Two Interface Setup + router problems II
Hey all, A while ago today I posted about not being able to get my two
interface setup working with a router (di 652 wireless/wired). I
recieved help from Tom and got everything in the router turned off and
set it up as a switch rather then a rouiter, this still never
corrected my problems. Use tcpdump I see there is alot of traffic, but
as soon as I dhcpcd eth1 (local) I loose all outside access

DHCP+Firewall configuration
Hi. I have a Linux box with two network interfaces. The local interface has an alias so it can listen to two (completely) different subnets. I need to configure a Firewall and a DHCP server in the same machine. I have:
eth0 > net
eth1 > loc1
eth1:1 > loc2
If my DHCP server will use eth1 IP address (main IP address for that interface), How do I specify the ''dhcp'' option

vserver openvpn
Hello
I''m new to the list.
I installed a vserver (http://www.linux-vserver.org/) on my gentoo server
As network interface is used an alias (eth1:0)
eth1 is the card of my "loc" zone. eth1:0 has an address from the same
subnet
from the vserver I can connect to eth0 but not to the internet. From my
local net everything works fine.
I have an entry in "mask" for eth1

New Shorewall Document
Because of the volume of questions recently regarding Shorewall and
Virtual/Aliased Interfaces (e.g., eth0:0), I have written a document that
discusses this issue. It may be found at:
	http://www.shorewall.net/Shorewall_and_Aliased_Interfaces.html
The document is linked from the "Documentation Index" and from FAQ #18.

ppp0 like eth0
Dear friends,
a pointer to howto very welcome please.
Shorewall runs on my laptop. Now is quite well configured when it is
attached to my LANs (home or office).
From times to times I use it while traveling and connect through a GPRS
modem which shows up as ppp0.
What is the simplest way to configure shorewall so that when ppp0 goes
up (well after shorewall is already running) it will treat
