Outdated r-base-core when installing on Ubuntu 14.04
Since 14.04 is the Long Term Support version, which also is used by Linux Mint, it's not really outdated, and a lot of folk, myself included, use that stream (my machine says Linux Mint 17.1, but I think that is simply the splash screen). I say stream, because the kernel and other infrastructure are being updated, though probably not to the level Dirk prefers, and I do use other distros for

Request for jags package to be added to CRAN Debian/Ubuntu archives
May I request that Dirk's package for jags be added to the CRAN archives for Debian and Ubuntu? Installing the rjags package for R requires specific versions of jags to be present on the system. The current version of rjags requires jags version 2.2.0 or later but the version on the Ubuntu archives at Canonical (i.e. not the CRAN archives) is 2.1.0-2 I can always install Dirk's package

Can't install rjags on LinuxMint 12
Hi, I'm trying to install rjags and R2jags with R version 2.14.1 (2011-12-22) on Linux Mint 12 machine using software repository: deb http://cran.fhcrc.org/bin/linux/ubuntu oneiric/ jags seems to install OK, but rjags gives a weird error about not finding fprec symbol. Here is a history of the problem including several attempts to work around it. (Because of Ben Bolker's recent

Outdated r-base-core when installing on Ubuntu 14.04
Thanks for the replies. Crouton does get in the way of installing arbitrary linux distros - in particular the only ubuntu distros that are fully supported are precise and trusty (12.04 and 14.04). Others have gotten vivid and wily to work with some effort. I found a reasonably detailed guide for vivid, so I'm currently installing it on the machine. We'll see how it goes. Once it's

Outdated r-base-core when installing on Ubuntu 14.04
I have a chromebook with a fresh minimal install of Ubuntu 14.04 running through crouton, and I'm trying to install the latest version of R. The only thing I have done to the system before trying to install R is install gedit. When I try to install R I get an unmet dependencies error that complains that the version of r-base-core available isn't new enough. I followed the instructions at

doveadm output format changes
It appears that doveadm output format changes every now and then, without particular notice. For example, the following command: doveadm -f pager mailbox status 'messages recent' '*' did output something like this until v2.2.24 : mailbox: Mailbox1 messages: 58 recent: 12 ^L mailbox: Mailbox2 messages: 128 recent: 0 but switched to that in v2.2.26 : Mailbox1 messages: 58

2.2.26.0 : accessing "mdbox_deleted" content destroys indexes
Accessing or listing "mdbox_deleted" contents seems to destroy MDBOX indexes. Examples of commands which triggers this problem ($home being the home directory of $user, and mail_location being mdbox:~/mdbox): doveadm -o mail="mdbox_deleted:$home/mdbox" -f table mailbox status -u "$user" 'messages vsize' INBOX doveadm -v import -s -u "$user"

"doveadm altmove -r" not working ?
Hi, Your problem might be similar to mine a long time ago. IMO behavior of "doveadm altmove -r" command with mdbox format is different to sdbox format: - With sdbox format, when you move back a message to primary storage (aka default storage), only the message and the file containing it are affected. There is nothing impacted. - With mdbox format, a file in storage contains

"doveadm altmove -r" not working ?
Hello, I have some trouble using "doveadm altmove -r". Regular "doveadm altmove" is OK, selected mails were moved to alternate storage as expected. But I can't manage to get them back to original location, "doveadm altmove -r" has no effect. We are using Dovecot 2.3.4 (Debian Buster package). mail_location =

unable to install rjags on 64-bit Debian Linux (etch)
While I have been able to install rjags on my Windows computer, oddly I have been unable to install rjags successfully on my 64-bit Linux compute server (etch, Linux kernel 2.6.18). I am required to specify the JAGS module directory upon installation; when doing this within R, I get:
