dragdrop.js: drop from sortable
I have a Sortable that''s working like a charm, but now I would like to
be able to drop objects from that Sortable onto a Droppable that''s not
part of my Sortable.
I just did a small test page where it didn''t work, so my first question
has to be "is this supposed to work?", before I dig too deep into it.
"accept" for the droppable is set to the

playlist streams
Hello again
No replies regarding memory requirements!
I have an idea to provide 1000's of streams without the requirement of
100's of source PC's, and perhaps without even requiring Icecast at all.
But I'm not sure if this will work.
We will have thousands of 24 hour playlists generated everyday by
software I'm developing. If we encode all our audio files at 32kb/s,
could

Serving a playlist.pls / listen.m3u file
Hi - I've heard that Icecast provides a fake "playlist file" along the lines of
http://blahblah:8000/listen.m3u
or
http://blahblah:8000/playlist.pls
because Quicktime can't seem to handle the stream without a playlist
file to wrap it up. (There may be other reasons.) However, I can't
seem to find any documentation about this, and guessing various URLs

about playlist
I have the icecast with some ices working perfectly in a Linux server,
mp3
files are reproduced with no problems, I'm quite satisfied with it but I
have a little doubt!
When users click the link at the HTML page, their default player (like
xmms,
winamp... etc) doesn't load.
That's how I've made the link:

Though in theory it could be done (but neither icecast nor ices support it),
this wouldn't do what you want it to, since no _clients_ would support it.

Can't Hear Icecast Playlist HELP!!!!
I am a new to all of this icecast stuff.
I have two machines on the network behind a router. On the icecast server
itself I can click on the playlist link and it works fine using a xmms
player within Linux. But it will not work on my windows machine using every
other player. When I mouse over the playlist link it says:
http://my_ipaddress/playlist.ogg.m3u is this correct? Did I configure it

Icecast not streaming from playlist. (Newbie)
Hi all,
I'm new to the streaming audio thing, but have been a linux user for 7 or 8
years. Here's some background:
I work in a really EMI-nasty environment that prevents receiving radio
broadcasts. In order to listen to sporting events, local news, etc. I
planned to set up icecast to stream live audio snatched from a radio at
home, and listen to it at work.
I installed icecast,

Update ezstream playlist 'on the fly'
Hi,
I'm using ezstream to stream a list of mp3 files to my icecast2 server
which works great. I'm using a m3u playlist file which ezstream reads
when it starts and rereads when it loops. The problem is that this
playlist is quite long and I would like to be able to inject a song
last minute some where in the playlist. I have two options at the
moment to do this:
- restart ezstream

playlist problem
Hi, I've had a few problems with broadcasting an icecast2 playlist with peercast. The problem is that when getting the m3u file, the response isn't terminiated with a newline (\n or \r\n). peercast doesn't particularily like this.
I've submitted a patch to peercast for this, but I wonder if icecast2 should add the \r\n to the end. Maybe there's some more buggy software around

the dummy playlist... chaining a clip to a stream.
Hello.
I have a question. We run a number of public service audio streams. They
are picking up in popularity, and it would be nice to take some credit
for the bandwidth we are supplying. Lots of people directly linking to us.
So I would like to attempt to do something that I've seen done with WMA
streams. I would like it so when a listener connects, it plays back a 20
second audio clip

How to make the playlist repeat
Good afternoon,
I have two playlists going, on separate mount points, and they both
exhibit this behavior. It appears that ices is shutting down when it
reaches the end of the playlist. I'm getting these same four lines at
the end of the logs of both playlists:
[2019-12-08 00:00:53] INFO playlist-builtin/write_ogg_data module
shutdown requested
[2019-12-08 00:00:53] INFO input/input_loop

Dynamic Playlist
I have a few related questions.
I'm using the following Debian packages:
Ices2 (2.0.1-4)
Icecast2 (2.3.1-2)
Here's the input section of my ices-playlist.xml:
<input>
<module>playlist</module>
<param name="type">basic</param>
<param name="file">/etc/icecast2/playlist.txt</param>
